Dreamtime Houseboat is artistically designed to create a spacious and harmonious atmosphere. Big sliding doors and an indoor garden with a glass roof that opens up when wanted. Have full contact with the water and birdlife outside. Do not be surprised if they come asking for some food. Multi colored walls and ceiling combined with Australian Aboriginal Art adds to the dreamtime experience. At night the many little dimmed lights give it a luminous colorful atmosphere with reflections of the water coming inside. The extra large TV is packed with a hundred movies to see. Classical English style kitchen with high quality equipment. The bathroom is tiled in Italian natural stone and floor heated venetian mosaic. Extra large bath and separate shower. The entire apartment is floor heated with classical mosaic wooden flooring and more Italian natural stone which gives a very comfortable climate through the whole boat. You can have your breakfast or a BBQ on the big 35 m2 terrace next to the boat outside.

Dreamtime Houseboat apartment is an extension of a larger houseboat. The Houseboat consists of 2 separate apartments. Dreamtime Houseboat Apartment has a private entrance, private terrace and all other facilities.
During the day you can enjoy one open space and by night one can use 3 sliding doors to create 4 separate compartments. Creating a kitchen, dining area, (double bed) bedroom and one large suite/ bedroom with 2 single beds that can be constructed into a double bed. The bedrooms are created with the sliding doors. This is not a stereotype setting like in a normal house or apartment. The sliding door that is used to separate the two sleeping rooms is extremely soundproof and gives maximum privacy between the two rooms. The blue curtain hanging in the smaller bedroom can be used for visual privacy if you or one of your travel companions will open the sliding doors and walk through this smaller bedroom to go to the toilet at night.

Located very near of the old city centre. A very unique and beautiful location. There is no canal so close by all major museum, famous Vondel park and the city centre with so much privacy and peaceful atmosphere. We waited 10 years for a place on this canal! Nearby are many little picturesque restaurants, cafe's and shopping streets. A local farmers market around the corner and a public transport tram stop for all directions. Explore the city by tram, dutch bicycle or even a small motor boat if you hire one in town.

The boat is very well equipped and very well located in a quiet neighborhood. All you need is very close to the boat. The kitchen is very well equipped and the decor is tastefully done. I did a 3 day stay and it was the perfect place for this. The welcome was very friendly and the hosts were always available for any questions or problems small. And thank you to Melle and Audrey for hosting, I highly recommend this place.
Das Hausboot selbst war super. Sehr wohnlich, sauber und top eingerichtet. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. An dem TV-Programm sollte noch gearbeitet werden ( nur 1 deutsches Programm ). Die Außenanlage, sprich Terasse, bedarf einer gewissen Renovierung. Mel weiß das auch und hat sich schon "Kärchergerät" besorgt. Die Be-treung durch Mel war ausgezeichnet. Würden auch nochmal buchen. We had absolutely amazing stay at Melle's lovely and specious house boat early May 2013. Decor, attention to detail and location are just great! The terrace is a great place to chill out and we actually hosted a birthday party there - so you can fit quite a few people! Kitchen is well equipped, large gas oven and hob, large fridge and plenty of nice cutlery and crockery. Bathroom is very stylish with both shower and bath. The double bed is very comfortable and there are two beds in the living room area too. Whole boat can easily be divided to three sections with sliding doors to give privacy - works great with a group of friends. Melle is a perfect host, he really made sure that our stay was great and it was great to meet him too in person - really like to personal touch. We'll definitely came back! Oh and recycling directly outside the boat was brilliant and the area is great with lovely shops, nice restaurants and grocery store, bakery, cheese shop etc all around the corner.
We really enjoyed our stay. The houseboat is modern, well-equipped and very tastefully decorated - we particularly admired the plants and paintings. We stayed early in the season and so the trees and gardens were not in leaf but it must be very attractive then. The passing boats add interest. The location is good and we found the walk to the city centre enjoyable; there are also good parks and some unusual restaurants nearby. The owner and his assistants were most helpful and spoke very good English - we are in their debt for returning the items we left behind! Thoroughly recommended.
