Description of this holiday apartment
The elegant apartment “Monti” is a lovely hideaway located near the
Colosseum in the charming bohemian neighbourhood “Monti” where you
are tucked away from the hustle and bustle of mass tourism. On the
apartment’s enchanting balcony you can lean back and enjoy the “dolce far
niente” during your “Roman Holiday”.
This blissfully quiet 100sqm apartment is situated on the 3rd floor (US=4th
floor) of a beautiful historic Palazzo from the 17th century (no elevator). This
elegant apartment is furnished with charm and style: the ambiance is
characterized by diligently restored old pieces of furniture, gorgeous wooden
ceilings and a wonderful tile floor. From the entrance to the left you reach the
“living area”: a living room with comfortable sofas of which one is a
comfortable and real sofa-bed for 2 persons and a dining room with a
beautiful old Murano Glass Chandelier above the dining table. Next to the
dining room there is the fully equipped kitchen. There is another little room
where you have additional storage space.
To the right of the entrance you get to the “sleeping area”: Walking along
the corridor you first reach the master bedroom with a double bed and an
Ensuite-Bathroom with a little tub. Passing by the study you then get to
second bedroom with a sofa bed which sleeps two persons. From the
corridor you reach the second bathroom with tub. From all these three
rooms you have access to the gorgeous balcony with a beautiful view. The
apartment’s amenities include: wireless internet, international TV
programs, autonomous heating, AC in three rooms, dish-washer and
washing machine.

- This apartment is located in one of Rome’s most picturesque and fashionable city-centre districts: Monti – which is built over three of the seven hills of Ancient Rome. Centrally placed, but tucked away from the bustling city, you can enjoy the real Italian way of life in this neighbourhood. Many prominent writers, artists and intellectuals fell in love with this charming city-centre “village-atmosphere”, too. Lately, it is becoming a popular haunt of tourists “in the know” who are charmed by Monti’s characteristic Piazzas and narrow, cobbled alleyways where antique shops, boutiques and galleries offer a wide range of leisure activities. For the gourmet, too, Monti abounds in culinary possibilities: be it the open-air fruit and veg market, the numerous Pizzerias and Trattorias or the many restaurants that offer the real Roman cuisine. You’re in a perfect position to do a lot of sightseeing by foot: the Eternal City’s landmark – the Colosseum – is just a stone’s throw away from your apartment. From there, you can discover various milestones of Ancient Rome: the Circus Maximus where chariot racings took place, the breathtaking Baths of Caracalla, the Forum Romanum or the mystic Palatine Hill, residence of diverse Roman emperors and said to be the birth place of the Eternal City. Within 15 minutes you can reach the world’s most famous steps – the Spanish Steps – passing by the legendary Trevi Fountain. From here, the extraordinary Pantheon is just a five minute walk away. Proceeding for another 5 minutes, you find yourself at Piazza Navona gazing at Bernini’s masterpiece – the central “Fountain of the Four Rivers”. You can also use public transport, as there is a metro station a 3 minute walk from the apartment: changing the metro line at the main station, you can visit Saint Peter’s and the Vatican Museums with their awe-inspiring collection of art treasures from all over the world and Michelangelo’s stunning frescos in the Sistine Chapel. In addition to that, there is a mini bus that passes right near the street of your apartment and takes you directly to the Spanish Steps.
