In one of the oldest houses in Lisbon, on the doorstep of the famous Lisbon Castle (Castelo São Jorge), fully renovated apartment will perfectly accommodate a couple or a small family up to 4 persons.
The 55m2 apartment consists out of one sleeping room with double bed (140x200), living room with dining table and a small couch which can transform itself into a comfortable bed (135x200), a working room, a fully equipped small kitchen and a toilet.
The area of Castelo, where the apartment is located, is the most touristic area of Lisbon with Alfama, the most famous and picturesque neighborhood of Lisbon, only few minutes away. There are numerous typical restaurants and shops that will pop-up as soon as you step out of the apartment.
Although being in the very central touristic point of the city, the apartment and its surroundings are very quiet due to the restricted traffic and a lot of huge trees some of which are right in front of the window of the living room. The micro climate of the apartment offers comfortable and fresh staying during the hot days because of the old tick walls and the abundance of the trees.
The perfect location of the apartment allows you to walk to many of the "must see" places like castelo São Jorge, Alfama, National Panteon, Church Sé, etc., or hop on a tram 28 which stops nearby the apartment and take the tour all around Alfama, Graça, Castelo and Baixa. Beside monuments and attraction points, you will be just few steps from the most beautiful view points of Lisbon - Portas de Sol and miradouro de Graça. The metro station of Martim Moniz is 10 min walk away, and the station of Baixa Chiado 15minutes. Train station of St. Apolonia is also withing the walking distance of 15 minutes. In the case of coming with the car, there is possible free parking near by the apartment.
The apartment is supported by WI-fi internet connection and all required equipment such as washing machine, electrical oven, fridge, nespresso coffee machine, etc. All in all, everything you will need to make your stay in Lisbon comfortable and special. The clean towels and bedclothes are provided. The apartment does not have the TV, but that is something that you will surly not miss while visiting a magical city of Lisbon.

First - the good points: The location is terrific. It was fairly clean. The kitchen & bathroom had most necessary fixtures. HOWEVER: The "bed" is a mattress on the floor. The "Small couch which can transform itself into a comfortable bed" is three planks of wood and a couple of 2cm foam pads. So the "couch" is just 25cm high, and has no back or sides, and as a bed it would be very uncomfortable. There is no other place to sit except hard folding chairs. The flat is full with the owners things - very crowded. The bedroom is essentially windowless. It gets no natural light at all, and has a window that opens onto the interior (shared & windowless) hallway. During our stay, the fridge contained left-over and spoiled food, the bedding was damp and we were bitten in the night by something other than mosquitoes. There were several smaller problems too, from insecure door to burned out bulbs, no kettle etc. We do not recommend this apartment.
Nous avons passé mon ami et moi une semaine a Lisbonne en juillet chez Bojan et nous en sommes ravis. Que cela concerne l'accueil, l'emplacement, le climat (l'appartement est frais et cela est bien agréable en plein été), les équipements a l'intérieur... Tout est très correct. L'appartement est calme, et proche de petits restaurants très agréables aux alentours du château. de plus le trajet pour rejoindre le centre ville se fait rapidement en tram ou en taxi et même a pieds ce n'est pas bien loin. Si vous désirez découvrir le Lisbonne typique avec ses rues pavées qui montent et et qui descendent, le tram 28, et les locaux, cet appartement est pour vous! nous le recommandons!
We had a wonderful time in Lisbon staying at this cosy apartment. Well fitted and in a superb location in the heart of the old city. Two tram lines nearby and almost everything within a short walking distance. I would definitely recommend this apartment for short stays in Lisbon.
We are currently staying in this apartment and would not recommend it at all, apart from its location.
Host response As the reaction on ONE and ONLY negative review, I should say the following: Housetrip did not accept the complains of Joanne as they estimated that they don't have any base and everything in the house is exectly like described and presented on pictures. 1)The bed is not a mattress on the floor. Indeed, the bed is low, but it's supported by a wooden structure which is elevated around 15cm allowing the mattress to "breath" and ventilate.The bed is exactly as it is seen on the pictures. 2)The couch is exactly as it looks on the pictures, comfortable to sit or sleep (maybe not for elderly people). 3)There are 4 chairs, two wooden with the soft "pillow" cover, and two synthetic which are soft and comfortable. 4)The owners stuff are ONLY present in the office, and in the kitchen which are necessary for kitchen to operate. There are few boxes on top and below the closet as well. 5)The bedroom has one big window with "blurred" glass as it is in the ground floor, and in fact has less natural light than the rest of the apartment, but you "should" be out discovering the beautiful Lisbon during the day anyway:) 6)The fridge is always emptied after each guest, apart of some food that is still good to use. Normally the expired food is thrown away. As I don't like to throw the good food in the garbage, I leave that option to guests themselves. 7)The sheets and towels are ALWAYS washed after each guest and put fresh one day before or on the day of the arrival of the guest. 8)The apartment is being cleaned after each guest, and I haven't receive any report of any animals before or after the guest that made this comment. I also checked the house myself and haven't find any animals that can bite except few mosquitoes (there is an electrical requete mosquito killer!). 9)The door of the building did not working properly in some occasions, but it has already been repaired. The bulbs are definitely not burned out! Some of them are disconnected because there is way too much artificial light for the size of the apartment. The guests are encouraged to contact me for any issue they might have, and I am always on disposal to resolve any reasonable problem. There is in fact no kettle present in the kitchen, as the guest noticed, but it is not even listed in the description of the apartment. In the end, I would strongly suggest reading the description of the apartment carefully and watching the pictures with attention to avoid any surprises upon the arrival.
