This is the perfect property for large group of people visiting New York for whatever purpose.
Tourists: the subway (Q train) is a 3 minute walk - see below for times to some of New York's popular venues
Family gatherings - great when traveling to a wedding or reunion for it is a wonderfully decorated house with a large dining room, elegant kitchen and living-room and even a sun room to have those fun conversations
Business gatherings - the dining room is great for meetings
Victorian Flatbush boasts large houses from early last century - this 100 year home sits on a quiet block with birds chirping and children playing. It also has many bars and clubs and is now attracting artists and yuppies because of it night life and beautiful homes.
There are three bedrooms upstairs; two have double beds and has one has single bed bed. Two other bedrooms are one the lower level (elegantly finished basement). One bedroom has two beds that can remain separate or slide together to form a queen - they are heavy beds and do not move. The other room has a double airo-bed. This totals nine sleeping very, very comfortably as long as there are 3 couples. In addition there are 2 single futons and a double futon that can be distributed around the house to accommodate if there are more singles or more quests in general. Remember there is a great deal of flexibility to switch things around; in addition in the living room there is a comfortable couch. I often sleep on it in the winter because the room has a fabulous working gas fireplace. The house is large and roomy obviously. As stated above there is a formal dining room with a very large table for meetings. Two of the bedrooms can serve as offices. There is high speed internet access and regular internet with printer access on two computers, as well there is a large sun-room sitting area in front with rocking chairs looking onto a tree lined block. By the way the kitchen also is wonderful for dining and it is elegantly designed with Quaker handmade cabinets, green granite and my own paintings and photographs adorning the marble and wallpaper facades.
We are minutes from the subway and many, many restaurants and night life. This is area has become one of the places to go in Brooklyn according to Timeout magazine -
Many restaurants line Cortelyou rd which is very active at night.
The bedrooms upstairs are all air conditioned and the first floor is air conditioned - the lower level is not but is really a basement, though as elegant as the other floors, remains comfortable in both winter and summer. The rooms have space heaters and of course the house is heated by steam and gas.
Sometimes when the entire house is rented I may stay in the studio in the back which a separate building. I would need to use the bathroom by the kitchen. There are three bathrooms. But usually I drive upstate to my country home or arrange to travel during rentals. But let's discuss this upon contact.
Remember this is a beautifully decorated house in a quiet but popular area with many shops and easy access to Manhattan.
Prospect Park is .8 miles down the block and it is was built by the same architects as Central Park.

Ruth The house and the location were perfect. As advertised, it was close to good restaurants & subway. I criticize the host for leaving too much of his personal belongings as there was no room in closets & very little dresser space. As well as his personal medicine & hygiene needs in bathroom. The kitchen was not clean; the coffeepot was dirty. We had to do some cleaning before we could eat there. I did not receive security deposit of $1000 from host, & finally put a stop payment on check.

Instant booking
Instant booking rentals can be booked directly within a few minutes, much like you book a hotel room on the internet. Only our highest quality rentals are chosen to be featured in our instant booking selection. On request
To book "on request" rentals, you need to send a request to confirm availability with the owner before booking. You will receive the owner's answer to your request directly by email. We advise sending requests to 3 or 4 "on request" rentals that interest you most. As soon as you receive a positive answer, you should book immediately; waiting for other replies increases the chances that available rentals will be booked by someone else.Taxes and Fees

We connect you with owners and managers of holiday apartments around the world, providing you with a safe and easy-to-use platform to book and pay for your stay. HouseTrip enables you to pay for your bookings online using a debit or credit card. This payment is then held securely by an independent third party until 2 days after you have arrived at the property, when it is transferred to the owner. By handling this process, certain taxes and fees are incurred, which are included in this section.Additional Fees
Sometimes hosts ask for additional fees (refundable security deposits, cleaning charges, etc.) that cannot be paid through HouseTrip. You will need to pay these fees directly to the host when you arrive at the apartment. To calculate the total price, just enter the details below then click 'Get total'.

Host response I do apologise for not sending back the check -she even provided an envelope. I was busy and forgot. From now on I will leave more closet and drawer space. I do take exception to this because her son showed up about noon and we actually had a great afternoon. I offered to clean out more space in the closets and drawers. He said it was not necessary. I now know that I have to clear more personal belongings, leaving more drawer and closet space. In fact I now keep two drawers consitenly clear in each room and have closet space availaible. I also leave shelves in the bathroom clear - you live and learn. I realize that I also need to put all my medicines and personal hygenine stuff away It has been rented twice on another site and the reviews were five stars. The house was very clean when she arrived - the maid was there the day before - I did forget to clean the coffee pot after the morning usage - I will not make that mistake again. The kitchen is an exegeration for it was clean and then the son brought food and beer and such which was strewn everywhere when his mother, the one who wrote the review, arrived. The kitchen was spotless - the maid was there the day before. I thought I had cleaned up after myself. I will definitely be more careful in the future We live and learn - at least she confirmed how beautiful the house is and how great the nieghborhood is - She did make that comment and I was also told the sleeping arrangements were very comfortable. She could have mentioned that as opposed to minor things. But she was angry about the check not being returned. They were nice people and again I apologize for not returning the check. I did subsequently and sent a letter of apology.
