The location will give your stay a totally unique flavor: the Jewish quarter is behind (actually it officially begins this side of the street) with its old-charm shops, typical Hungarian delicious restaurants and 5 minutes away XIXth century Klauzai Ter market where you can buy your fresh groceries or mix with the locals at the foodstalls; Broadway (the theaters place) is up front – it’s a 2 minutes walk to join the Opera and Andrassy street, the local Champs-Elysées with its luxury brands and impressive buildings. A few feet away on the left is first St Terez church (that you can see from the flat) then Litsz Ferencs square, a greenery pedestrian area where the world famous music academy is accoled to hype restaurants and gourmet terraces (plus, it’s pratical, the Budapest tourism agency). The 70 bus will conduct you swiftly to the forest and the Szechenyi baths, an Art nouveau thermal heaven with an outside 38° winter swimming pool – a must to experiment absolutely since it’s an ingrained part of the Budapesti life... and a delight after a day of visits. Kiraly tram station (tram 4 and 6) on the korut is 5 minutes from the apartment and will take you basically everywhere in the city. Although, being that you are at the utmost center, you can do almost everything walking. On the right 10 minutes away you’ll find Dek Ter, a hub for the 3 metro lines, Vaci utca the fashion street and a little farther the Danube. Go there at night, it’s magic.
Push the doors and discover… Pest well-kept stunning secrets, a Touch of Tuscany in this case… green and yellow . A world, unimaginable and not accessible from the streets, will unravel: the charm of patios and inner iron balconies, century-old sandstone majestuous stairs, airy arcads in the court. There is no elevator in the building (3rd floor) but this may pose a problem only for the elderly and very heavy luggage traveler because the smooth-patina steps are very easy (and the grocery store is at the ground floor, opened 6h30-21h30 7/7, while the bakery is just across the street to ensure fresh bread and croissants for your breakfasts – isn’t it great ?). You’ll be able to see the roofs of Budapest, a lot of the city blue sky and the top of Basilica tallest golden coupole.
The apartment has been totally renovated in 2012 by the owner, a French home designer. Among the original details, typical of Pest classical apartments, remain the high ceilings (3m70), the century-old parquet and huge wooden doors. A whisper of old Hungary can also be found in the decoration. Everything else is for the lovers of luxury, comfort, intimacy and design.
Extremely sunny, non smoking, the flat offers one kitchen, a separate dressing, a separate toilet, a bathroom and a big room and can accommodate up to 4 persons. The best brands have been used, be it for the kitchen appliances (mostly Bosch except for the Gorenj oven and the induction cooking panel), the Kaldewei Conoduo bath and the mainly Italian topnotch contemporary fixtures of the flat. At your disposal, everything you will find at home: glassware, cookware, cutlery, napkins; fridge, oven, micro-ondes grill, induction cooking panel + extractor, fridge, dishwasher, washing and drying machine, hair-dryer, iron, iron board, aspirator and a safe for your convenience. There is a large Samsung LED TV with access to international channels and a free internet cable for your laptop. Towels, pillows, bed linens and spa amenities are furnished. Final cleaning is included. Andréa will warmly welcome you upon arrival to help you settle down with some information, services and city maps.
