The apartment has a privileged location in a typical street of the oldest Lisbon, (Photo) inside the castle walls.
There´s no traffic in this particular street and it is very restricted in the entire area of the castle.
Close to little stores selling products for your first needs, coffee shops , bars and restaurants.
2 minutes walking to the major viewpoint of the wider Lisbon 360º
Close to the house, Great views over the river Tagus, with multiple terraces where you can simply relax enjoying the sights and taking a drink or having a succulent meal.
Check pictures of "Portas do Sol" and "Santa Luzia". (public spots with Greg view very close from the apartment).
Being the oldest part of Lisbon it stays near many monuments, such as São Vicente Monastery, the Sé Cathedral and the Pantheon at a walking distance. You are also in a strategic point to explore the old Alfama district with its narrow streets and tight alleyways. This authentic neighborhood has nice and not very expensive restaurants and Fado houses such as "Clube do Fado" House. Close to the tipical "Bairro Alto" district that you will like to visit and where you will find lots of bars open until dawn.
The area has very good transports. With the bus nr. 37 it takes 5 minutes to reach "Baixa-Chiado" district and it is 10 minutes walking from subway.
Do not forget to take the train to the well known town of Estoril and Cascais with its beach and shops - 20 minutes walking distance to the train station.

Elsa was a really great and helpful host. Her English is excellent. The apartment is actually inside the castle walls on a very narrow street which is charming. There is no wi-fi, and there is no close metro stop. However, the 737 bus stops very close by as does the 28E historic tram. Taxis are about 3.80 (euro) from the nearest metro stop, Rossio. And well worth it--the apartment and castle are on a big hill! I would totally stay here again--nice apartment, charming location, lovely hosts.
Estuvimos muy a gusto en el apartamento. Es como una cueva solo tiene ventanas a un lado. la cocina y el baño son interiores y el cuarto tiene un ventanuco pequeñito. Esto permitio que mientras fuera hacia mucho calor en la cueva estuviesemos fresquitos. Ademas la callecita estrecha tenia mucho encanto con los periquitos de los vecinos y las plantas. Tiene una tiendecita en las inmediaciones que permite comprar casi toda la comida necesaria de muy buena calidad (un poquito mas cara). El autobus te sube hasta la puerta del castelo (el 737) y si te sacas un bono es muy comodo. El apartamento pese a ser pequeño esta sobradamente equipado.
Nosotros estuvimos a gusto, puesto que la estancia era para dormir y poco más, al llegar del calor de la calle era gratificante que estuviera fresquito, ya que parecía que estabamos en un cueva, por que solo entraba luz por una ventana que daba a la calle. Echamos de menos un microondas, una cafetera, televisión y ropa de cama, ya que era un poco escasa. El enclave era muy bonito y nos sentiamos integrados dentro del marco turístico,y Sara la hija de la propietaria fue muy amable con nosotros facilitándonos lugar para aparcar el coche.
L'appartement est très bien et très propre mais il est vrai que pour le matin il manque une cafetière... Nous avons donc joué les Mc Gyver et fabriqué un support de filtre à café avec un gobelet en plastique !!!! Je pense qu'il serait bon d'investir dans la cafetière pour l'avenir. Par contre bien placé sauf quand on arrive en voiture où là, tout se complique pour caser le véhicule. Heureusement, Sarah, la fille de la propriétaire, nous a momtré un emplacement pour la garer et être tranquille pendant les 5 jours de notre séjour sans la bouger.
C'était bien et super bien placé mais il manquait une cafetière, et une radio ou une télé car nous étions coupé de toutes nouvelles!! par rapport à l'annonce, il n'y avait pas de sèche-cheveux (tant pis) et pas de télé et surtout pas de jardin ni terrasse !!!!! Dommage , nous l'avions un peu choisi pour ca!!
