Introduction
Experience an exquisite blend of seventeenth century Amsterdam and a light modern style in this wonderful house. This original canal house is situated in the Canal Belt and lies between the Herengracht and the Singel, two of the most central canals in Amsterdam. The 100m2 apartment covers the whole building and counts five floors. It is fully furnished in a mixture between the warm classic style of seventeenth century Amsterdam and a light modern style. It has two beautiful bedrooms with the original wooden ceilings and even an en-suite bathroom to the master bedroom. The seventeenth century style does mean that the stairs are quite steep and narrow, but walking up those tiny stairs is a completely Dutch experience in itself.

The apartment
The entrance of the building is on the first floor and will lead to the living area. Even though the building is quite narrow, the living area is still spacious enough to contain a comfortable double sleeper sofa (with 2 single duvets) and two lounge seats near the large windows. The windows afford a beautiful view on a typical Amsterdam street. For entertainment, the room has a flat-screen TV, a DVD player and a free Wi-Fi connection. The ambiance is classic, created by the windows, the original seventeenth century elements and the works of art present.

The kitchen and dining area are situated in the basement and, like the living area, have a lovely warm feel. The kitchen is fully equipped and has all the conveniences needed. Of course it contains a complete set of kitchenware, a refrigerator, a microwave, a toaster, a blender, a juicer, a kettle and a coffeemaker. It has a hob stove with 4 cookers to enjoy some real Dutch cuisine. The dining area contains a dining table, 6 chairs and cupboard. A toilet is present in the basement as well. The basement can be reached via a small staircase.

The master bedroom and the en-suite bathroom are located on the second floor. The wooden beams on the ceiling are typical for the canal houses of this age and create a beautiful space to rest after an exciting day in Amsterdam.
There are two single beds (2x90cmX200cm) that are joined into one large double bed and there are 2 single duvets. The room also holds a grand flat screen TV and bedside tables with lamps. It also has plenty of storage space to hold any suitcases or complete wardrobes. The en-suite bathroom has a luxurious large bath/shower combination. Other facilities include a hairdryer, a hand basin and a toilet.

The second bedroom has also two single beds (2x90cmX200cm) that are joined into one large double bed and there are 2 single duvets. This room, too, has beautiful wooden beams across the ceiling. Again, the room holds a flat screen TV and bedside tables with lamps. It also has enough storage space. The room is situated on the third floor and can be reached through another small staircase.

On the beautiful loft, located on the fourth floor, there is a fantastic two-person whirlpool. The design is beautiful and it will be a great experience to enjoy a relaxing hour in the whirlpool, in the middle of Amsterdam in typical architecture! On the same floor one can find a hand basin and toilet. The views over Amsterdam are great!

Neighbourhood and location
As mentioned, the apartment is located between the Herengracht and the Singel canal.
The Singel encircled the city in the Middle Ages and was the boundary of the old city. The Herengracht is the first of the three major canals in the city centre of Amsterdam. The house is close to the city's most important sights, such as the Dam Square, the Anne Frank House, the Red Light District, the famous Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Amsterdam Hermitage; all within walking distance! Some of Amsterdam's most popular restaurants are also within this range and you will have no problem finding a lovely place for dinner. The Central Station is only 800 meters away and if you chose to take the public transport, tram 1,2 and 5 have stops literally meters away.
