Gorgeous modern apartment in picturesque Downalong, the heart of St Ives. Close to town and convenient for all the beaches. Particularly suited to families. Our modernised apartment is thought to have once been a net loft. We have 3 bedrooms sleeping six - 2 doubles and a bedroom with a bunk bed which is particularly suited to children. It has its own TV / DVD player and plenty of books and games. The large open plan living area has an LCD TV and DVD player, large family sofa, DVDs, books and family games. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment and built in appliances. The bathroom has a separate bath and shower. Our apartment is on the ground floor with two steps from the living area to the bedrooms. We have good sound insulation and central heating. Very tall people should note that the living area has a head height of 6ft 3in - ours is an old listed building. Linen and bath towels are provided. Gas, electricity and wi-fi included. Peak weeks are a Friday to Friday let.
St Ives has long been an attractive destination for artists, drawn by the rather special light which should be evident to you when you arrive. It is often sunny here when overcast elsewhere. The old town is picture postcard pretty and merely walking the streets of Downalong, the old fishing village centre, is entertainment in itself. There are numerous art galleries, including the famous Tate, plenty of shops and restaurants and several beaches to choose from. Eat at a restaurant on the beach, surf at Porthmeor, walk the coastal path or take a boat trip from the harbour. All beaches are walking distance from our apartment. Park up the car and forget about it for the week.

Michelle lovely property. well equipped. super location. only one minus point, The bathroom needs an extractor fan as it tends to stay/smell very damp. would still however recommend as an excellent property. thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Host response Hi Michelle. Unfortunately it was impossible to fit an extractor fan when we remodelled the apartment - no void to duct it out. We have however had a new boiler fitted since your stay which is extracted well away from the window so we can now open the window to the bathroom - hurrah - and air it the good old fashioned way without the bother of a really annoying noisy fan!
