About the village & Helpful tips:
The East Village is a neighborhood in the borough of Manhattan in New York City, lying east of Greenwich Village, south of Gramercy and Stuyvesant Town, and north of the Lower East Side. Within the East Village are several smaller neighborhoods, including Alphabet City and the Bowery. The area was once generally considered to be part of the Lower East Side, but began to develop its own identity and culture in the 1960s, when many artists, musicians, students and hippies began to move into the area. The neighborhood has become a center of the counterculture in New York, and is known as the birthplace and historical home of many artistic movements, including punk rock and the Nuyorican literary movement. The neighborhood with the highest concentration of bars in the city (if not the world) scores off the charts in all the expected areas: retail diversity, restaurant density, and proximity to nightlife.
Nearby Parks:
Tompkins Square Park is a 10.5 acre public park in the Alphabet City section of the East Village neighborhood in the borough of Manhattan in New York City. It is square in shape, and is bounded on the north by East 10th Street, on the east by Avenue B, on the south by East 7th Street, and on the west by Avenue A. And st. Marks Place.
Best location in Lower Manhattan just steps from the F Subway train and about a 9 minute walk from the 6/B/D/F/M trains. You can get to anywhere south of Harlem in less than a half an hour by train, and less than 15 minutes by cab.
It is an Easy walk to the Lower East Side, Greenwich Village, SoHo, Nolita, Chinatown, Little Italy, Gramercy, Flatiron. Quick access to Brooklyn hot spots which include Williamsburg, Downtown Area, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, Carroll Gardens, etc.
The subway directions from the airport to my place-- From JFK:
You take the air train from JFK to Penn station and then
Take the A train to Jay St/Borough Hall
Transfer to the F train to Lower East Side/2nd Ave
From LaGuardia:
Take 7 train 42 St/Bryant Park
Transfer to the F train to Lower East Side/2nd Ave
I recommend taking a cab, after a long flight it is so much easier , it's shouldn't be more than 40$. Coming in to the city during rush hour which is usually between 3pm to about 8pm might take a little longer, about an hour maybe longer depending on traffic Monday's thru Fridays, otherwise it shouldn't take more than 40 minutes.
Additional fees, if applicable, must be arranged directly with the Host after booking. Only accommodation fees are payable when booking through the HouseTrip platform.

Instant booking
Instant booking rentals can be booked directly within a few minutes, much like you book a hotel room on the internet. Only our highest quality rentals are chosen to be featured in our instant booking selection. On request
To book "on request" rentals, you need to send a request to confirm availability with the owner before booking. You will receive the owner's answer to your request directly by email. We advise sending requests to 3 or 4 "on request" rentals that interest you most. As soon as you receive a positive answer, you should book immediately; waiting for other replies increases the chances that available rentals will be booked by someone else.Taxes and Fees
HouseTrip is an online platform for holiday apartments. We do not own or manage the apartments listed on our site. We connect you with owners and managers of holiday apartments around the world, providing you with a safe and easy-to-use platform to book and pay for your stay. HouseTrip enables you to pay for your bookings online using a debit or credit card. This payment is then held securely by an independent third party until 2 days after you have arrived at the property, when it is transferred to the owner. By handling this process, certain taxes and fees are incurred, which are included in this section.Additional Fees
Sometimes hosts ask for additional fees (refundable security deposits, cleaning charges, etc.) that cannot be paid through HouseTrip. You will need to pay these fees directly to the host when you arrive at the apartment. To calculate the total price, just enter the details below then click 'Get total'.
