STUNNING "LE BOIS" PIECE OF PARADISE

Come and join us in the stunning Charente/Limousin region of France. This region is known for the beautiful countryside and laid back lifestyle.
“Le Bois” Chambre d'hôte is an English family run B & B and is open all year round.It has it's own self contained appartment too. It is set in it’s its own secure parklands of over eight acres and two beautiful stocked lakes. Enter the grounds through large electric gates and wind your way past the lakes on a two hundred meter drive to the house and car park. The house has a stunning view set right above the largest of the two lakes. With seating around the lake there is no better place to relax and enjoy the lazy evenings, or go for a nice relaxing walk and maybe feed the wild ducks or spot the kingfishers or woodpeckers.
When entering through the electric gates, you can immediately see the beautiful first lake to your left. This lake is teaming with carp, cat fish, pike and black bass. It has an islandwhere wild ducks breed and live. You can walk all the way around the lake and venture on up to the second lake.
The second lake is the larger of the two lakes and is right in front of the house. It has much larger fish, some weigh over 45llb.You can also walk all of the way around this lake too. We have seating in different places all over the gardens and guests are always welcome to enjoy our gardens as much as we do. We also have an acre wood which in spring is full of blue bells and is lovely to walk around and you may even see some red squirrels which frequent here often.
Being open all year round can make this an even more magical place. In the winter it might be a little cold but what an absolutely beautiful scene Le Bois really is. It’s like a picture postcard. Whatever time of year, and for however long, there are no time limits and you are always welcome to come and enjoy our beautiful piece of paradise. Because we are quite rural, the night skies are absolutely amazing. On a clear night, which is most of the time you can see the “Milky Way” so clear that you want to reach out and touch it. You can sit outside with the night sky and have the chiminey burning and take it all in. If you just need a short break or a long holiday, here is the place to be for a relaxing wonderful experience.

The apartment on the ground floor has all facilities including Wifi, Sky TV, CD, DVD, open plan fully equipped kitchen diner with oven & hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, kettle etc. It has an open plan lounge, double bed and another bedroom with two sets of bunk beds. It has a shower room with wc and basin.
The apartment has it’s own entrance, where there is a wooden bench and table and a beautiful stone BBQ and is literally a stones throw away from the lake. You can sit out on an evening and dine “el fresco” whilst hearing the bird song. The apartment is let on a self catering basis, but we can provide lifts to the supermarket if you have no transport. (Arriving by flight and being picked up by us from the airport for a small fee to cover the fuel costs for example.)
We have a video player with lots of films and also lots of board games if anyone requires them. A CD player is also in the apartment so you can bring your own music.
No restrictions on time limit.
For persons who wish to stay with us longer than three days we also have a number of activities such as:
French Boules, Table Tennis, Darts, Goal Net (football). You can also have use of our own Private small but refreshing above ground Swimming Pool with private changing room. Children must be supervised at all times.
We also have a row boat but must stress that no children unless accompanied by an adult who can swim can use. The lakes are deep and swimming in them is PROHIBITED, as they are stocked with large fish.
All above activity’s free of charge of course. All of these activities are at your own risk. All children must be supervised at all times,

LOCAL PLACES TO GO

CHABANAIS The local town of Chabanais is just a couple of km’s away where you can find local shops, restaurants, bars, café’s etc.
CONFOLENS There is also the beautiful town of Confolens not far away with it’s quaint cobbled streets, two bridges with the river running through. It has a lovely square with bars and restaurants and even has an English “Fish & Chip” shop.
LAC’S de CHARENTE A few km’s away is a local leisure lake with man made beach and further on again are “lacs de Charente” which are well known leisure lakes with different watersport facilities and man made beaches.
ORADOUR Approximately 10 km’s away is the historic and well documented town of “Oradour”. Well worth a visit.
HORSE RIDING Local riding stables where horse riding is available at reasonable rates are found in a small village
called “Pressignac”. Only a 15 minute drive from here. They have lots of Ponies and Horses for every level.
CANOE down the Charente river.
THE COAST A two hour car journey away is the coast town of “La Rochelle” and the “Isle de Re”
FUTURASCOPE is approximately 1 hour 45 mins away.
MARKETS There are always local markets on most day’s around the different villages. Car Boots too!!
LIMOGES is the Biggest City to us and world famous for its Pottery. It has amazing architecture and lots of old buildings. It has a huge Antique market once a month where there are local traders and also what English people would call “Car Boot Sales” too.
