It's a cosy, lovely, bright and airy maisonette with two double bedrooms and a terrace in Hackney, zone 2, near Clapton Pond. Two cats live here permanently, so if you are allergic the apartment is not suitable for you.

Both rooms offer a very comfy double bed and storage for your clothes. 4 people can stay very comfortably. The kitchen, living room and bathroom are downstairs, and there is of course broadband throughout. The terrace is a real suntrap, wonderful in the summer for meals outside or happy hour drinks and full of flowers and herbs. The kitchen is well-equipped with utensils and all the rest, it's big enough for a table and bright in the evening, so it's a pleasure to cook in here. There is an opening onto the living room so you can chat with your friends while you cook, or even watch TV.

The apartment is in a quiet, lovely Victorian residential area, recently further improved thanks to the Olympics. It is very close to the wonderful open spaces of Hackney Marshes and the Lea Valley, Hackney Downs, Victoria Park and dozens of other smaller green spaces, with amenities such as tennis courts (for free!) and so on. If the weather allows it, you will be spoilt for choice of beautiful, secluded, lush, green picnic areas.

The neighborouhood is really great in terms of other forms of entertainment, as well – walking distance or short bus ride to a plethora of night and daytime venues, including too many art galleries to mention. I am completely in love with it. The flat is within walking distance of Broadway Market on Saturday and Chatsworth road market on Sundays (less famous but check it out – it's buzzing). Also very near to trendy Dalston and Shoreditch, both a short bus ride away, so if you like nightlife you're sorted.

The City is within very easy access, either by bus (see below) or by train from Hackney Downs/Clapton train stations. We are also extremely well connected to the centre and just about everywhere else by many very frequent bus routes:

55: to Marble Arch via Hackney, Shoreditch, Clerkenwell, Holborn
38: to Victoria via Dalston, Islington, the Angel, Holborn, Soho, Green Park
242 (from Powerscroft road): to Tottenham ct rd via Dalston, Shoreditch, the City, St Pauls
48: To London Bridge via Hackney and the City
106: to Aldgate via Hackney and Bethnal Green (great for Tower Bridge)
254: to Whitechapel via Hackney and Bethnal Green (also great for Tower Bridge)
56: to Barbican via the Angel

Bethnal Green tube station (Central line) is a short bus ride away (106 or 254). It will take you to the West End via the City very quickly. There is also a wonderful overland service from Hackney Central or Homerton that goes east to west and viceversa, connecting you to the Victoria line (at Highbury and Islington) should you need that. It is very fast – about 12 mins to Camden! I'll be happy to give you the best travel tips when you book.

Parking is free on the road outside. There is virtually no traffic because of the one-way system, so your nights will be totally peaceful.

I am an ex-smoker so I understand if you would like to smoke – please enjoy your cigarette on the terrace.

As said at the beginning, two cats live here permanently, so you should not be allergic. In an ideal world, you should in fact consider the presence of two beautiful felines an added bonus to your stay... Indeed, this flat is perfect for you if you are a cat lover, as the cats will be there to give you a very warm welcome to London. They are extremely sociable and affectionate as well as soft and gorgeous. All they ask for in return is that you feed them and give them water (there is no litter tray, as they prefer to use the big outdoors which they access freely through their catflap).

As a general rule, please note that I am unable to accept bookings farther ahead than 3-4 months. Thank you for understanding.

If you are planning to land very late at night please check first whether it is possible or convenient to let you in, as it might prove problematic – unfortunately, there is no all-night reception. Thank you!

Blandine logement agréable et suffisant pour 4, loin du London agité ; accueil sympathique et disponibilité du propriétaire en cas de petit problème.Un peu loin du centre et pas de métro à côté mais une bonne adresse, calme et décontraction.

Sylvie Bel appartement confortable (lits) dans un quartier tranquille. Propriétaire sympa et disponible. Bémol: Appartement à 20 min à pied du métro, soit près d'une heure pour être au centre. Il y a les bus mais en tant que touristes, on a laissé tomber pour savoir comment faire. Propreté et rangement pas suffisant.

Andreas Dieter Wir verbrachten 11 wunderbare Tage im herbstlichen London. Die Wohnung war bestens geeignet für unsere 4köpfige Familie (2 jugendliche Töchter), und wir empfehlen sie uneingeschränkt weiter. Gemütlich und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, alles da, was wir brauchten. Weil die Wohnung auch sonst bewohnt ist, und durch die Anwesenheit der beiden freundlichen Katzen fühlten wir uns sofort wie zuhause. Speziell gefallen hat uns die Lage in dieser multikulturellen Wohngegend (absolut friedlich). Dank ausgezeichneten öffentlichen Verbindungen sind alle Attraktionen im Zentrum bestens erreichbar; die täglichen Busfahrten waren eine Attraktion für sich. Auch An- und Abreise mit ÖV (Eurostar St.Pancras) war problemlos möglich. Dazu, und für vieles andere, waren die ausführlichen Vorinformationen von Piccianeri sehr hilfreich.
