Discover Cavalier Cottage B&B, a pet-friendly home away from your home and an attractive alternative to conventional hotels, motels and B&B’s. We warmly welcome visitors who come to this beautiful and diverse area of Western Massachusetts with or without their companion animals.
Since opening the cottage in January of 2012, I’ve welcomed more guests than I could possibly have predicted or hoped. It seems that Cavalier Cottage has answered a need for truly pet-friendly accommodations. I could tell you stories about the wonderful four-leggeds who’ve enjoyed country walks here, not to mention their terrific two-legged companions. I could not have imagined that I’d meet such a variety of interesting people when I opened the cottage this past winter.
Nestled at the base of the Charlemont hills and located on a very quiet country road, Cavalier Cottage is spacious, bright and comfortable. The live-in area is simply but graciously appointed, featuring ceiling to floor windows, a queen size bed, private entrance and private deck. The fully equipped kitchen has an eat-in area with a full size stove and refrigerator (in case you want to cook-in), and a private bathroom. Relax on the private deck and enjoy the country view. For entertainment, you can access Netflix movies on your laptop, watch Direct TV with over 100 channels, or play classic board games. To stay in touch with the outside world, the cottage is equipped with Wi-Fi. Park your car in an enclosed garage if you need to. Amenities also include a delicious Continental breakfast with Pat’s English scones, a small but growing library, and a CD player with a collection of jazz and classical CD’s.
Cavalier Cottage is conveniently located to the Mohawk Trail (Route 2) and many outdoor activities: There are great hiking trails, river rafting, tubing, zip line canopy tours, horseback riding, tennis, golf, biking, snow shoeing, rock climbing, downhill and X-country skiing. The beautiful Massachusetts countryside, with its many quaint villages and towns, is also home to a great variety of iconic educational and cultural destinations, including MassMoCa, the Clarke Institute of Art on the Williams College campus, and many more. The area is a four-season vacation destination, from foliage time in the autumn, through ski season into spring hiking time and summer holidays. Time here is sublimely tranquil and peaceful.

~Our guests are now eligible for a 10% discount from Zoar Outdoors (just a few miles from the Cottage) for all their great outdoor activities including the very popular zip line canopy tours, kayaking, white water rafting and rock climbing!
~For dogs (and their human companions, too) who love to swim, we offer a map featuring three wonderful river and lake areas.
~Berkshire East ski area, just 15 minutes up Rt. 2 from the cottage, offers our guests $10.00 of each lift pass on a daily basis.
Please note:
As more guests have visited, many potential guests were unable to come because the dates they wanted were already booked. Because Cavalier Cottage can only accommodate one party of guests at a time, we highly recommend that if your desired dates are available, you secure the space by submitting a deposit, in order to avoid disappointment. Cavalier Cottage, a cottage for all seasons, is perfect for week-long vacations, weekend or mid-week getaways, writer’s retreats, house-hunting visits, and temporary lodging for relocated executives.

~ Your choice of two 39″x 80″ Japanese futon mattresses or an Intex Queen Size or twin size airbed with a built-in air-filled base, all providing for a very comfortable night’s rest.
