Entire House in Rome: Central Rome Historic Villa with Garden
1920's 3-story villa, free-standing on 3 sides, 175 sqm and 200 sqm outdoor space, in central Rome and well connected to the rest of the city.
On the ground floor (airconditioned) you find our spacious living room (with queen fold-out couch) and dining area, large kitchen and full bath. There is also a smaller living room with a couch where one person can sleep. This floor opens on two sides onto a patio with eating (under shade of lemon trees) and sitting areas. The second floor has three bedrooms (two with ceiling fans) and another full bath. One bedroom has a queen bed, another bedroom has two single beds and the third has one single bed.
The villa has all amenities, including washing machine, dishwasher, wi-fi, 40" flat screen TV with over 100 channels, dvd and vcr players, etc.
The two floors have been renovated recently so they have a new, contemporary feel and design to it. Groups of up to 8 can stay comfortably in our home.
The villa is in the historic San Giovanni area, a 15 minute bus ride (without having to change buses) to the Colosseum. The neighborbood is quiet and peaceful. Lots of shops are within easy walking distance as also a wonderful outdoor market where you can find fresh fuits, vegetables, meat, fish, fresh pasta, and lots more. Two metro stops are within 10 minutes walking. Saint John Lateran (one of the four main basilicas in Rome) is nearby. A customized Google map and an extensive house manual are available for confirmed guests.
Additional fees, if applicable, must be arranged directly with the Host after booking. Only accommodation fees are payable when booking through the HouseTrip platform.
Everything was fine. The description was aligned with the reality, and good manual and a map were suggested to us by the host. The place is about 45 min. walk from Colisseum, about 5 min. walk from the buses and about 10-15 min. walk from the metro station. There are some shops and good small places in nearby. In principle, all the city center is not that far away. House inside is also OK, we had just two minor issues - one with cables to DVD (we failed to connect it with the sound working) and another one is probably more critical for Russians - there is no pot there! :)
La maison est vaste,assez propre mais bien mal entretenue:Poignées de fenêtre cassées (avec impossibilité d'ouvrir les volets dans une chambre), l'écoulement de la baignoire fuit(la salle de bain se transforme en piscine après la douche),il nous a été impossible d'avoir du chauffage (l'expérience a montré que fin octobre, il peut faire bien froid à Rome), la literie est vieillissante (le matelas du canapé du salon est très sale, ainsi que certains couvre-lits), le couchage dans le salon ne permet aucune intimité (pas de porte de séparation) et le contact avec la propritaire n'est pas sympathique (avec même difficulté pour récupérer la caution en l'absence du voisin et longue attente)...
Appartement très agréable et spacieux.Possibilité de manger dans le jardin. Facilités pour prendre les transports en commun, bus et métro, pour le centre ville.Très bien desservi en magasin d'alimentation. Garage pour petite voiture, la notre n'y rentrait pas. Peut-être un petit effort à faire en ce qui concerne la cuisine:une cafetière expresso en meilleur état,un adaptateur électrique pour brancher 2 appareils. Notre séjour a été très agréable dans cet appartement qui est plutôt une maison.
Catherine was extremely helpful. Without her help we wouldn't survive in Rome. Thanks to her we found a bike shop and got a wheelchair repaired. Apartment is much better than what you see in photos. Excellent price-quality ratio. I would stay again. It is possible to eat meeals in the garden in the shadow of lemon trees, what's very nice and memorable.
