BRICK LANE
A microcosm of London's shifting ethnic patterns, the area around Brick Lane in East London was once associated with poor slums and the scene of the crime for the Jack the Ripper murders. Whilst the notorious pub Ten Bells still stands, the area itself is now extremely popular with London’s edgy and artistic crowd, featuring galleries, restaurants, markets and festivals throughout the year.
The Old Truman Brewery at 91 Brick Lane houses a vibrant market where up-and-coming designers set up shop every Sunday selling a unique variety of clothes, handbags and jewellery. There are also vintage clothing stores and chic boutiques dotted around the area.
Brick Lane has always been famed for its many authentic curry restaurants. It now also has a reputation for its warehouse art exhibitions and trendy clubs and bars. So, before your East London experience is complete, be sure to head to the Vibe Bars beer garden or 93 Feet East (150 Brick Lane) which has become an East End institution well known for its eclectic mix of live music and intimate atmosphere.

A large sized furnished double room with plenty of space, with all the bedding and linen provided at a very reasonable rate for the location.
The rooms come lockable doors for your security and privacy.
THE FLAT
The rooms are in a four room flat.
The flat has got full wooden flooring, fitted kitchen and a good-sized separate bathroom and wc.
The kitchen has all mod cons.
TRANSPORT
The flat is located approximately 5 minutes walk from Bethnal Green Underground Station.
Numerous buses at the doorstep day or night that serve Canary Wharf, The City and The West End.
AMENITIES

Phillip The owner failed to tell us that this property was burglarized within the past month and thus we had an unexpected visitor in the form of the police department inquiring about the event. When addressing the police, we had no idea what to say since we were not notified of the event and we couldn't help in identifying the culprits. The shower broke while we were here and it took two days to fix and the shower was not fully fixed as it would be freezing cold and then scalding hot within seconds. The housekeeping staff was rather rude and discriminatory and we would face yelling every morning even when we were trying to sleep in. The bathroom smelled like mold everyday and we developed upper respiratory problems from it and had to be on antibiotics for a week to recover. The 10 pound housekeeping fee is undeserved as we faced scolding from the housekeeping staff every time we let the housekeeper change the sheets. There are probably better places to stay in the East London area.
Réponse du propriétaire Philip stayed with us for 3 weeks he was very polite and never once complained about any of the above issues while he was here. Otherwise we could have dealt with them My staff don't come every morning so I don't what yelling is being referred to. We had a new shower put in a few months ago and some work in the bathroom I have never had any complaints since. There was a burglary there more than 10 wks ago due a long staying guest letting the wrong people in. We have since installed CCTV and changed the locks as we take the safety of our guests very seriously. As it happened long before Philips stay and there has been no incident since. I didn't quite see how it affected Phillipe. All in all this is a shared accomodation with a clean as you go policy, we expect all our guests to clean up after themselves and to leave all communal areas the way they would like to find them in the first place.
Laura The room was nice, very basic and small, but clean. The apartment was clean and the kitchen equiped for breakfast. It's in a very convenient position, with bus number 8 you reach in few minutes the undergroud and easily the centre. It's perfect if you are planning to spend most of your time outside. Even if the photo you see on the website does not correspond to the room I got, I was very satisfied. It has a very good a good price/ quality ratio. I reccomend it.
Amélie Je me suis finalement décidée à écrire mon fort mécontentement en raison d'une non volonté du propriétaire de prendre en considération les désagréments de notre séjour dans ce logement. En effet, l'appartement a été cambriolé la première nuit de notre séjour, ce qui n'était pas la première fois ! et le pauvre petit verrou n'avait toujours pas été changé..puis les policiers sont venus constater à 2h du matin et il y a encore eu intrusion dans le logement dans la nuit. Le lendemain, le propriétaire a enfin décidé de changer le verrou et de mettre une caméra de surveillance mais ne nous a pas prévenu et nous avons attendu devant la porte 2h le soir avant d'avoir les clefs !! Bref, tous ces désagréments m'ont amené à demander un dédommagement financier. Le propriétaire m'a comparé au voleur s'étant introduit dans l'appartement en disant que je voulais le voler !!! il m'a fait attendre plusieurs mois sans rien en retour... je suis extrêmement déçue par ce logement...
