“Wonderful house with the best view of Dartmouth!” i stayed at Harbour Heights with a group of friends, all couples, and everything about the trip was fantastic. Before the trip, Ann (the owner) and Victoria (her assistant) were extremely helpful with answers to our questions, but also providing proactive suggestions for us on what to do in the area. Little touches like this really help! Then on arrival, wow... The house is wonderful. Easily large enough for 6 couples, with 5 bedrooms looking over the river (which I will come back to!) and lots of communal space. The kitchen was well stocked with all cutlery and crockery you will need, and the whole house was spotless and in great condition. However the icing on the cake was the view, it is just stunning. You can see a whole panorama of Dartmouth itself and Kingswear, with the River Dart in between. I could have sat up there all day watching the world go by, and seeing the boats go up and down. I don't think I have stayed in any accommodation with such a good view as that. So in summary, a wonderful trip and I can't recommend high enough. Just two tips: 1. If you are organising the trip, make sure you grab the Flagship suite ;) 2. The hill to the house is the only challenging aspect. If you have mobility issues, then you might struggle to walk it - it is not far to walk, it's just very steep! However there is parking for cars so that will help.

“fab fab time at the larchers” we stayed at the larchers Saturday to Tuesday we loved it.sara the owner lets us have it for the dates we needed as well.the log cabin is in a lvly area very very quite the log cabin is lvly inside and out very clean and tidy.me and mu husband wonted to use a hot tub so they let us use theres as a little extra cost it was great just what we needed to relax.shrewbury was lvly as well only 11 mile drive very well worth a visit.thank you we enjoyed our stay.xx

“Birthday in the jungle in a good way!” Oak Retreat is such an unusual place to stay. Mark and Sara have created an idyllic spot in their 'shed' as we christened it. It is far from a shed as the lodge is built and kitted out beautifully. The highlight though is its setting amongst the plants and trees and the clever lighting. It is magical particularly at night when the canopy is subtly illuminated. You can sit on the comfortable balcony which is under cover if it dares to rain. You can listen to the trickle of the stream and waterfall and it is totally relaxing. You can also wallow in the hot tub to feel even more indulged. After a very warm welcome you are left to your own devices in total privacy although help is on hand should you need it. A perfect break in a lovely little town. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here particularly if you are celebrating something special. We would certainly wish to return.

“Perfect and peaceful” It was a fabulous experience from booking through to checkout. I was so impressed by the website but the hut and location are far better than the gorgeous images. We arrived at about 8.30pm, the hut was toasty warm and welcoming. The breakfast hamper kept the smiles going! The attention to detail is second to none, noting has been overlooked. Amazing!

“Luxury apartment with the sea out of your window” A lovely apartment. quality furnished and decorated, comfortable and has everything you need. We stayed in October although not that cold it was nice to turn on the heating when we go back for instant heat. Lounge and kitchen look out to the sea and below. Very nice fitted kitchen with everything you could need. Same can be said for bedroom and bathroom. Andy met us on arrival, he is a very nice chap. Just book it!

“An absolute gem of a cottage” Had a fantastic 2 night stay at Lavender Cottage. The location is great, 50m from the river in the centre of Bourton. The owners communication was great, and the fact that they left small gifts on the pillows for the kids was lovely. “Home from home, fantastic base for the Peak District.” We have just returned from a fantastic week away at Winster Cottage. It was one of those rare times where you feel immediately comfortable and at home and are very impressed by the cleanliness and facilities. Matt was extremely helpful with our booking and with reassuring us that the cottage was completely 'pet' free (due to my wife and mother-in-law's allergies) and even offered to remove the feather cushions on the sofas if this was a problem too. Becky was very welcoming on arrival and showed us everything we needed to know. It was apparent that Matt and Becky did not mind any questions/queries during our stay. Even Matt and Becky's neighbours were very friendly and helpful and gave my wife a cup of flour when the useful and well stocked village shop had closed on Sunday, and Matt and Becky were out. A fantastic cottage to base yourself in for the Peak District, I would have no hesitation in recommending it and would return again.

“perfect for relaxation, leisure and enjoying nature” Gary was a perfect host, very helpful and informative. The property was very well equipped, lots of games and jigsaws, really comfy bed and some nice little special touches like the water filter jug. The hot tub was keot extremelly clean which is very important it was also a really good temperature and although we didnt use it a BBQ. The site has some great walks which was perfect for us and our dog. The leisure centre was great for me as I love to swim and my husband got in some fishing. What more could you ask for? Oh yes the lovely ducky couples visiting in the morning to help with breakfast. We will definately go back to this lodge it had everything we wanted for our much needed break, I just hope it doesnt become too popular and there is no space in Gary's calender for us. Thanks Gary

“Affordable luxury” Stayed here to treat our dog to a holiday before the arrival of our baby! We all loved it, the cottage exceeded our expectations. The walks were lovely (very muddy!). It's rare to find a dog friendly cottage that is so luxurious, the bed was so comfy! The pool was really warm and it was lovely to come back from a long walk and relax in the pool. We will definitely be back!

“Great stay” Second time staying here, great location, lovely house, has everything you need... great break! The local pubs are lovely and serve great food... the house is situated in between both. The house is big and spacious with everything you need for a home from home feel. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay for a couple of days or even taking your family to the New Forrest.

“Wow Fantastic Accomadation, Great Host” Wow what a great find. The retreat at Hedgehog Corner is just fantastic in everyway. It is very modern, very clean and had everything you need for a special stay. Our host Joy was exceptional. She took the time to explain everything and spent time giving us a rundown of where to go and what to do locally. All the advice was spot on. Great location for visiting Lyme Regis, but even better for visiting River Cottage, which is a short taxi ride away (need to book taxi before your stay numbers on Hedgehog Corner website) Plenty of good local pubs nearby Hunters Lodge is only 3mins walk away another great find. Reflective tabards and torch provided. All in all I can not rate this property highly enough.

“A lovely Christmas stay” Just back from a lovely Christmas at Overdale Cottage. It is really very comfortable and well-equipped - plenty of kitchen equipment to make a Christmas menu! As others have said the situation is really very fine, with lovely views out over the Bradford Dale and walks from the door. The wood-burner was great and the chap who offers wood (on the main street, opposite the small, foot entrance to Bankside) gives great value; a large bag of kindling and large bag of logs for £8 the pair (eat your heart out Cotswold visitors!) Do be aware of the access, though. It is a steep path down to the cottage and everything has to be carried. Parking and dropping-off is probably safest and easiest done from the main street which is about 75+ yards away. Perfectly doable if you're the type of person who's coming to Derbyshire to walk and enjoy the countryside (but just plan what you take, as you have to carry it all down and back!) Lovely place; would recommend it.

“Deal or no deal?” Definitely a great deal! Had a fantastic new year at 49 The Marina. The apartment was beautiful! Extremely clean, large spacious bedrooms, lovely and warm when we arrived, it had absolutely everything we needed. There was a welcome note with chocolates wine and eggs left which was a lovely touch and a folder containing information about places to eat and go and much more! The owner Molly was excellent at replying to emails and left us her number in case we had any problems whilst there. Deal itself was lovely. We spent new year on the beach right outside the apartment and watched some great fireworks. Overall we had a wonderful few days and have all agreed we would definitely come back to Deal and 49 The Marina. Thankyou Molly for a lovely stay.

“A beautiful cottage in a lovely tranquil setting” Souters is an exceptionally beautiful cottage set in beautiful English countryside. We went for a weekend break at the beginning of summer. Fortunately the weather was great but we would have been more than happy had it been raining and we'd had to have sat inside all weekend. The cottage was homely with a real country feel. It is well equipped and the scones and jam made by Cath were a lovely added extra. Nick and Cath made us feel very welcome without being intrusive, they made it very easy for us to feel at home and everything we needed was provided. The surrounding countryside was beautiful and there was plenty to see and do. We would highly recommend the Angel Inn in Stoke-by-Nayland for dinner. The Crown Inn opposite was great too but a bit expensive. There is a lovely Farm Shop nearby with a great selection of local produce. There is a great boathouse in Dedham where you can rent a boat and row along the river. The cottage was definitely the highlight of our trip and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break in a beautiful setting. I have no bad things to say about Souters and can't wait to return in Winter and try out the log fire!

“amazing, amazing, amazing.” This is a very special and unique find ---a wonderful, homely cottage nestled in a delightful spot---we loved the friendly hamlet ;the great beaches ;the coastal walks that were so beautiful;the Pubs especially the Davenport, where we became regular visitors -the Boat Hut which did amazing breakfasts and more than anything we did not take the car out of the car park until the day before we left when we visited the superb Rick Steins seafood restaurant. An amazingly restful break in a cottage so lovingly restored and furnished with every need catered for.

“Beautiful cottage, in a lovely location. Perfect for River Cottage too.” My boyfriend and I booked to go to River Cottage and stayed at Acorns Cottage, very conveniently located nearby. The cottage was beautiful and very spacious for two people. The fireplace gave the cottage a very cosy feel in the evenings, and it was lovely to be able to enjoy the breakfast basket goodies in the conservatory in the mornings. Joy was very attentive, giving us a guided tour of the cottage on arrival before leaving us to enjoy the tranquillity of the area for the rest of our stay. Overall the cottage exceeded our expectations and provided the perfect setting for a relaxing anniversary weekend. 10/10 - we would love to return!

“Perfect!” This place was beautiful! Log fire and brilliant facilities. Everything was to a high standard. The flat had everything you could possibly need. The place was also spotless. Location wise, could not be better for exploring the New Forest. Overall, perfect get away!

“Perfect luxury cottage for a peaceful break.” The views and gardens are so beautiful with a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the afternoon!! The vase of garden flowers in the kitchen was a lovely touch as was the surprise in the fridge - all very romantic! Our little dog loved it too, he was happy to sun himself on the patio in the secure garden and curl up by the log burner after walking through the vale. The water bowl and dog treats on arrival made us feel he was welcome and went down well. If you are looking for luxury and walks from your door Daleside is ideal.

“Excellent, relaxing place to stay” This is a perfect relaxing retreat, spotlessly clean and everything you would need for a self catering break. There is plenty of birdlife, kingfishers, heron,various birds feeding on the feeders, boats up and down the river and while we were there a pair of swans sitting on 6 eggs outside the front door on a private lagoon. According to the guest book a number of people go there for the fishing but as I am no fisherman this did not interest me. There are any number of places within easy driving distance to visit including Norwich (the Park and Ride is the best way of going into the city) and a good day out is a visit to Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens.

“Lovely relaxing home, great base with lots to do in the area... if you can leave the hot tub!” The hosts are super friendly and really great in terms of contact before your stay and being available during it. They live next door so are close to hand should you need them. There is a lovely large lounge but we seemed to migrate between the conservatory and cinema room. If you wanted to use it there is plenty of space and seating for everyone. The pool table room constantly entertained the boys (14 and 16), good size room with a good quality full-size pool table. The cinema room was a great place for the family to gather for a sit around, dance around, and generally have fun. There is a small bar area which is great, even a fridge under the bar to keep the beers cold. The girls (8 and 11) liked to use the floor space for dancing and doing shows for us as well as being little bar maids, Good base for family games. The kitchen has everything you need and is spacious, there is also a utility room with a fridge freezer, large fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. There is a table with benches in the kitchen which leads off to a spacious conservatory. The conservatory was my favourite space really bright and relaxing to sit in. There is a sofa, a chair and a dining table with 6 comfy chairs this leads into the garden. The garden is big and has a swing set and trampoline for the kids and of course a hot tub... which is massive! The gym is in a summer house in the garden and is well equiped. The sauna barrel is also in the garden, we didn't use that but it looked good. Bedrooms are all a great size, there is a single room on the ground floor and a toilet but no shower or bath so you would need to consider this for guests with reduced mobility. Nearby you have the lovely seaside town of Whitstable, Canterbury around 6 miles away, Herne Bay and Margate within 20 miles. We had cars but there are buses that run close to the house. Gillingham is around 20-30 minutes away and is great for the kids Swimming, Ice Skating, trampoline park etc. Tesco and Sainsbury around 2 miles- we got a Tesco delivery to the house for the main shop. Would definitely go back :-)
