There was just about anything you could possibly want in the house except a DVR player, a list of the local Dish TV channels and bubble mats for the three showers. Was not happy to see the rental pri…

Gee, I sure wish this reviewer would have list the things that made him give us a four bubble review, instead of just the negatives. We do not advertise that we have a DVD player. We have Netflix, so did not feel that a DVD player was necessary. There is a bubble mat for the bathtub, which is the only slippery surface we have in the house is far as showering goes . The 2 walk-in showers have small tiles on the floor, which give a very secure footing and there is no need for a bubble mat in them. I knew the guest was interested in swimming and told them that the lake had a soft bottom. I did not realize that they wanted to walk on the bottom of the lake, as swimming to me involves kicking with your feet on the surface of the water. Initially, the guest was inquiring about coming in August, which is still high season and the pricing reflects that. I suggest that they wait until after Labor Day when the prices drop down, which is what they did. The pricing at the time of this response is the same price as what they paid, so I really don't have any idea where they are looking to view the discrepancy. So, to summarize, I guess if you don't want to play movies on TV, are okay with having to search through the TV Guide to find the channel you're looking for and you are looking to swim and not walk in the lake, Saluda Vista is the house for you!

Yes, the town of Saluda is quaint and charming. It seems to cast a spell on those who visit. There are several really good restaurants and Thompson's, the oldest operating grocery store in North Carolina, anchors a Main Street spot. Antique stores and artistic endeavors abound. For those wanting a little more excitement, Green River Adventures offers zip lining at The Gorge, along with kayaking and hiking tours.

Thanks for your review. Two of the three bedrooms, each with their own bath, are off of the large great room. This allows couples or individuals privacy, while giving family and friends a large communal space where they can mingle.
