Description

A spacious 5 bedroomed family residence which can be divided into two self-contained apartments with separate access and a large private pool. All rooms have their own en-suite. Situated on a hillside overlooking an old Byzantine castle, it enjoys stunning views of the bay, kite surfing beach and natural wetland nature conservation area. Close to local amenities, it is just 1km away from Akyaka’s beaches and a short walk from the region’s famous river fish restaurants

Available from June 2019, this traditional family residence built in the 'Nail Çakırhan' style unique to Akyaka is set among pine trees and olive groves. Built with pine-timbered eaves and balconies with whitewashed walls and red roofs, it enjoys stunning uninterrupted views of the Aegean Sea, the ruins of a Byzantine castle and a wetlands conservation area leading to the sea.

Built on 4 levels, the upper 3 levels comprise the main villa which, in addition to fully fitted kitchen and lounge with large balcony, has two large double bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms. The impressive master bedroom also has a TV, walk-in wardrobe and, in addition to the en-suite, a separate jacuzzi room.

The lower ground floor Pool suite opens onto the pool area. It has a further 3 en suite bedrooms, two of which are double bedrooms. The lounge has its own TV, Wi-Fi and double sofa bed. There is also a separate fitted kitchen. In addition to access from the main villa, there are two other entrances, one via the front garden and the other from the rear of the property by steps, All windows on the lower ground floor have reflective, tinted glass for your privacy.

Perched on the hill-side, the property enjoys a constant gentle sea breeze. The private, landscaped garden and pool area is planted with a variety of fruit trees which, together with a vine covered pergola, canopied patio and a large covered terrace, provide a welcome range of shaded areass. There is also an outside shower beside the pool for your convenience.

Travel cot and high chair can be provided if booked in advance

A welcome pack with a few essentials greets you on your arrival so you can relax on your first night with a drink

Access - The property front door is accessed via a well-lit entrance gate and steps.

Security - Security lights are fitted outside, both car park gate and main gates are lockable. A lockable safe is located in the main house

Eating and drinking

In addition to the regions famous River Fish Restaurants, Akyaka has many eateries serving fare ranging from traditional Turkish to fast food as well as many small Locantas, Bistros and tea and coffee houses dotted around the town

Recreation

Cycling, walking , sailboarding, kayaking and the town’s most famous recreation of kitesurfing are just some of the attractions available. At certain times of the year, there is even a kite flying competition!

Banking

There are no banks in Akyaka, but there is a Post Office and several cash machines. All shops take debit and credit cards and many are equipped with contactless payment

Shops

There are several good supermarkets in the town which sell a full range of groceries. There are also a number of small butchers serving local produce and a bakery providing daily baked breads and pastries.

For a relaxing day out, take a boat trip into the bay and enjoy swimming in some of the coves, enjoy lunch cooked for you on the boat and visit Cleopatra island with its beach of special sand, then walk around the old amphitheater.

There are also daily boat trips up and down the river and if you are lucky you will come across some of the endemic wildlife.

On Wednesday (Akyaka) and Saturday (Gökova) there is a local market where small holders from the from the region come to sell a selection of their home-grown, homemade seasonal produce ranging from fruit and vegetables to eggs and honey. A fish stall is also situated in the market displaying a selection of locally fish caught earlier that day.

Although advisable, having a car is not essential and local taxis are very reasonably priced. We can arrange car or mini-bus hire which can be collected from the airport or delivered to the door.

Getting around

Hire cars – Having a car is not essential, but advisable. Local taxis are very reasonably priced. In addition, there are a wide range of companies offering car or mini-bus hire which can be collected from the airport or delivered to the door. Again, we can arrange as required (not included in the price of the rental). Public transport - Buses fares are inexpensive and there are frequent services to both of the closest towns Muğla and Marmaris. There is also a bus service that runs along the lower road past the fish restaurants to Gokova.

Available by phone, Internet at all times. There is also a Turkish speaking agent who lives locally who is available to answer questions sort out problems.

How do damage deposits work?
