Seasonally we supply a complimentary canoe from mid Spring to early Fall and provide 2 pairs of hightech snowshoes during the snow months. All bookings include an UNLIMITED Algonquin Park Pass with every booking which also gains accrss to nearby Arrowhead Provincial Park..
Blue Heron is a completely PRIVATE 1,000 sq ft waterfront vacation apartment suite nestled inside a protected cove on prestige's Walker Lake. We are conveniently located just 15 minutes from the historical town of Huntsville, and 30 minutes from the gateway of world renown Algonquin Park. Blue Heron amenities include, WIFI, Netflix, Music Soundbar, Infrared BBQ, Lakeside Beach Firepit, and much, much more!
We are empty-nesters who quietly reside in upper level when we are not travelling. We converted a large four bedroom log cottage into a fully independent and locked vacation apartment and quickly become Number 1 on TripAdvisor in the Algonquin Region! Be assured, you will have full privacy throughout the entire grounds and full access to entire grounds including beach, firepit, etc. Other than an optional brief orientation at arrival you will not see anyone unless you specific request assistance.
As you can see from all our five star reviews, we are just a text or phone call away from any concierge services tips on what to see and do in the area. We offer the option of a self check in/check-out and provide personal electronic lock access to entrance, especially convenient for those arriving late at night. We leave out a welcome binder for easy reference on the cottage and activities in the area.
This fully furnished all season executive one bedroom suite captures the heart and soul of Muskoka! The open concept living room features a traditional Muskoka stone fireplace c/w 12' post and beams logs that revive the era of an early pioneer homestead. The full size kitchen is fully equipped with modern amenities such as microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, and even features a cooking island!
NEW: We now provide a Keurig Coffee machine c/w wide array of coffee and teas to enjoy :) Our recent upgrades include Netflix , blu-ray on our 52" wide screen or stream your favourite music from the soundbar! The open concept dining/living/and bedroom all face the west to what our guests refer to as the 'Million Dollar Sunset '
For those that need to keep connected , you would have full access to WiFi internet . For quieter moments Blue Heron includes a variety of board games, a wide selection of reading material, or enjoy watching Netflix or DVD's on our blu-ray player! Propane infra-red BBQ on site.
The Blue Heron is a naturalist delight - explore a waterfall in Algonquin Park, track a deer print, visit a historical sites, or simply 'Kick Back' and enjoy the natural beauty of a sunset overlooking serene Walker Lake in our Muskoka chairs! .

- Why can't I call Susan or Dennis (the owner) before booking?
You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.
If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.
- How do damage deposits work?
In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

- How do I edit my booking?
You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Susan or Dennis (the owner) a message.
If Susan or Dennis (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
