New furnace with central heating, New central air conditioning, New no VOC vinyl flooring and carpeting for 2019. Escape & relax in this beautiful private setting. This 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage sleeps 6 & is situated on beautiful Dumont Lake. Just under 3 hrs. from Chicago & Detroit, 4 hrs. from Indianapolis, & 5.5 hrs. from Cincinnati. Lakeside Cottage combines elements of times gone by with a modern twist, & is perfect for couples, families with children or a mature group of friends. Enjoy water activities or watch a beautiful sunset & a vast variety of wildlife with complete privacy. The fire pit is perfect for roasting hotdogs & telling stories. Enjoy your meals in a fully-equipped kitchen & dining area, on the lakefront porch or at the picnic tables overlooking the lake. Take the canoe for an early morning adventure where you can view a variety of fish, see deer, herons, swans, muskrats, beaver, sandhill cranes & more. Be lulled to sleep by the sounds of nature. Experience the fun & excitement of fishing off your own 80' dock, or take the peddle boat and find your own fishing hole.

I will meet you at the cottage upon arrival to give you the key, instruct you on using the incinerating toilet, cleaning the cottage prior to your departure, and answer any questions you may have. ALL GUESTS MUST BE PRESENT IN THE COTTAGE TO HEAR THESE INSTRUCTIONS. Your rental may be canceled if guests refuse to be present for the instructions. I will always be available by text if you need me. I live about 30 minutes away.

House rules

You will be expected to keep the cottage clean and clean the cottage at the end of your stay. Vacuum and cleaning supplies are supplied for you. Dishes and silverware must be washed and put away. All garbage must be put in the outside garbage bin. Additional overnight guests not allowed. Tents, RV's and camping trailers are not allowed. Running on the dock is not allowed. The maximum number of people allowed on the dock at one time is six.

Bed linens, pillows, and bath towels are provided.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Bruce (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
