Vista Seas is midway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, in the village of Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo County. Perched on a secluded hilltop with a horizon view of the Pacific, this custom California home rental is a geodesic dome designed by the world renowned architect Buckminster Fuller. Daytime temperatures at Vista Seas average from 70F in June to 80F in August (21-26C), which is the warmest month. In January, the coolest month, the average is about 63 degrees (17 C). Summertime is dry, experiencing very little, if any, rainfall from June through August. The average humidity hovers around a comfortable 60%. In July and August you can quite literally say there might not be a cloud in the sky!

Through the custom mahogany and stained glass double entry doors, lies the living area with its 33 foot high ceiling and wall of glass, overlooking the magnificent view of the valley below extending to the nearby beaches. Modern furnishings throughout the living area reflect space and light as the forefront of its design. Original art enhances the hand troweled plaster walls. The sunken living room offers a 2 sided gas fireplace open to the outside deck for ambiance and conversation. The tiled dining area is open plan.

The kitchen is equipped with Black Galaxy granite counters, double stainless sinks, a deep fryer, double oven, trash compactor, microwave and a stainless extractor over the range. All of the kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, as well as the curved staircase handrail, are custom made of Honduran mahogany with Peruvian walnut inlay.

Off of the kitchen, is the laundry room with washer/dryer and pantry. The stained glass back door leads to an outdoor deck, overlooking rolling hills dotted with oak trees and a tree topped view to the sea. The park sized outdoor play area is found down the steps under the oaks, but viewed from the house so as to be able to easily monitor the children.

On the ground floor is a large master bedroom with cedar walk in closet and en suite, finished in Turkish Travertine tile and Indian rainforest marble with a sunken double tub with jets. A separate office and powder bath is also located on this floor. On the upper floor there are two double bedrooms and a full bathroom. The landing lounge is comfortably spacious with a stunning horizon view of the ocean to the west.

We regret that we do not allow pets of any kind or smoking indoors.
