Casa do Rio (Small River House) is located at GPS coordinates: N 38 º 58,843' and W 9 º 07,182'

The house has 4 rooms - 2 bedrooms (one with double bed and the other room with couple bed plus a single bed), living room and kitchen in open space and huge wooden beams on the ceiling, two bathrooms (one in suite), hall, and two playgrounds (one front and and another rear). It has about 2000m2 of land and a garden area and grass.

There is a garage too.

In the house there are 5 pets (2 dogs and 3 cats) that enter and come out of the house freely. They are all gentle and friendly.

Along the wide path in front of the house, there is a small river (sometimes in very dry summers, can be very small) inhabited by many wild animals: riders, ferrets, foxes, wild ducks, deers, eagles, hawks and falcons, partridges, frogs and toads, and dozens of species of birds such as thrushes, finches, goldfinches, warblers, owls, woodpeckers, owls and cucus.

The area is a nature, rural, wine and ecological reserve. There are no other houses here. The house is a reconstruction of a stone house (still some walls are stone). There is no road, just a wide path. The house is located in a valley surrounded by hills. This is a Wine Region. The hills, full of vineyards, provide a fantastic landscape and are a balm to the look. In mid-September, the fields are covered with a beautiful golden brown tone: it is the time to pick up the grapes. This Wine Region of Lisbon and West has proved the birthplace of some of the fine Portuguese wines. There are lots of trails for long walks. The Village of Arruda is 6 km away, and the place of Louriceira is 2km away. The city of Alverca is about 16Km. In Alverca there is a train to the middle of Lisbon in 20m. By car, from home to the airport, are approximately 30m.

There is a computer with internet for the guests and there is a wireless connection.

This house provides a tranquil atmosphere in the Countryside, to rest, enjoy nature, and when pleases, visiting touristic places near Lisbon, such as Cascais, Sintra, Óbidos, etc.

People can cook as they wish. There is a Restaurant near by (we can walk until there) with real Portuguese traditional home made cooking.

The owner lives in a part of the house and (if guests want to), will always be around to provide help.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Suzana (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
