Description

Nestled in a quiet Hamlet within the heart of the beautiful natural park des Millevaches, our home offers you the opportunity to discover the Creuse. Peaceful roads meander through rolling countryside surrounded by stately fir trees providing a beautiful evergreen back drop all year. Many attractions are on offer including tree top walks, canooing, and horse riding. Further down the road at Gueret, get lost in the giant labyrinth or visit the beautiful wolfs at their sanctuary. Close by you will find the fantastic man made lake - Lac de Vassivière where you can indulge yourself with an afternoon on their floating restaurant enjoying a three course meal, while being entertained by their residential accordion player. Or perhaps you prefer to hire a pedalo and spend a quiet time on the water or relaxing on the beach and cooling off from the summers sun with a casual swim in the lakes clear waters. Lac Lavaud Galade, offers little hideaways for picnics and is ideal for lazy days fishing. Valliere, 10 minutes drive away, offers a variety of local shops including a traditional boulangerie with bar, pharmacy and a typical French brocant. 30 minutes out visit Aubusson, renown for it's world famous tapestries. Other towns close by and both offering regular markets are Bourganeuf and Felletin. Site seeing finished, relax in the garden or enjoy the local walks to be found on your doorstep. The area is a haven for those seeking the peace and quiet to allow for reflection, or writers that wish to lose themselves within their own thoughts. Artists will no doubt enjoy the natural beauty of the area . Your accommodation also offers you wifi internet, tea and coffee making facilities.

A car is absolutely essential if you wish to visit the area. If you are looking for adventure and the hubbub of city life, the Creuse is not for you. However, if this sounds the ideal place for you, you will be very welcome to our home and we will be happy to receive you. Breakfast will be continental and served with a selection of home made jams. We are also happy to provide a two course evening meal - carafe of wine included, for fourteen Euros per person. (Please let us know the morning, or the evening before the meal is required.) We look forward to meeting you.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Carole (the owner) a message.

If Carole (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
