This particular, 200 year old 100m2 two storey original house is located on Cunda Island, also called the Alibey Island, (in Turkish: Cunda Adasi, Alibey Adasi; Greek: Hekatonisa or Μοσχονήσι/Moshonisi).

Cunda is situated in the northwestern Aegean Sea and is connected, by a causeway and small bridge to Ayvalik, which boasts abandoned Greek churches and small seaside restaurants in old stone houses. There are 22 islands around neighbouring Ayvalik whose stone houses are the living remnants of inhabitants who have been in the area since 330 B.C. Cunda and its smaller islets were known to the Greeks as Hecatonnesi and were sacred to Apollo.

The house located in a 200 m2 garden, has one fireplace on each floor and has a beautiful view of the village, the sea and the famous Greek-Orthodox Taksiarhis Church at the same time. Heating and cooling is done the old fashion way: during the cooler months the fireplaces hot air is circulated through a system to heat the rooms. For cooling in summer, ceiling fans are used while stone walls - 80 cm thick - serve as natural insulation against the summer heat.

This authentic 200 years old two-story loft house has survived two earthquakes and one major fire in the past century. With a Greek-Ottoman inspiration it has up to 100 years old regional carpets, 300 years old Ottoman marble shower tubs and basins, copper plumbing, hand-crafted table cloths, old chests and the candle ceiling lightings will drive you to the ultimate corners of your dreams….

Standard furnishings are: Internet, satellite TV, telephone, DVD player, CD player/music set, IPod speakers, washer/dryer, iron/ironing board, vacuum cleaner, dust buster, hair dryerrefrigerator, oven, microwave, oven, toaster, kettle, tea pot, Turkish coffee maker, juice press, full kitchen utensils and cutlery for 8 people.

Breakfast comprising green and black olives and olive oil from the world famous Ayvalik area, various local cheeses, homemade jams, local honey, fresh eggs, tomatoes, typical Turkish bread fresh from the next door bakery, famous Turkish coffee and all this served by your housekeeper.

We would like to show you Turkish hospitality whereby you will not have to worry about house cleaning, changing sheets, doing your laundry or washing dishes.

Complimentary of the house at the arrival: fruits from the garden, a bottle of Turkish wine and an olive soap bar.

Our garden has two pomegranate, and one mulberry tree. The main seating area is shadowed by a grape vine and jasmine surrounded by lavender, thyme and various seasonal flowers. You can still see the famous church and village houses while having your breakfast or your dinner. The second and smaller seating area is at a round marble table under a magnolia tree. There you can lay back and have your aperitif while watching the local village people walk by the street and wave at you with a smile on their faces.

How do damage deposits work?
