You are looking at one of the best-kept secrets in Colorado! Just 5 miles from Blackhawk and Central City. It is a must to read my guest book below and hear all the amazing things previous guests have said about their stay.

Solid Log Cabin with all the amenities:

- Surrounded by National Forest, VERY Private and quiet (you could walk around naked all day and nobody would ever know!)

- Gushing Mountain Stream next to Cabin - great for your morning coffee or evening happy hour!

- 20-foot tall vaulted ceilings

- Fully Remodeled Kitchen and Bath w/ Stainless Steel appliances

- 1-acre of land and no close neighbors.

- We have an actual 1/12th Scale "MINI" model of the cabin there for you to enjoy! It took my wife approx. 400 hours to create. Its a work of art! If that doesn't tell you how much we LOVE our Cabin...I don't know what will.

- Wifi & Internet Access!

- Awesome indoor/outdoor sound system!

- Camfire Ring, Tree Hammock, & Patio Next to Stream! Gold Panning is also on-site!

- (2) On property elaborate treasure hunts! Months of effort went into each one!!

- A secret 4 mile long trail beginning behind the cabin for cabin guests only to enjoy!

- Beautiful Master Loft overlooking entire Cabin! Plus one main level bedroom, and a kids treehouse loft bedroom. The treehouse loft is mostly meant for kids, but its a cool place to hang out in too. Includes a twin bed, and Directv & DVD player.

- Elaborate and beautiful lighting inside and out! Its an absolute Passion of mine. Over 50 outdoor landscape lighting fixtures (even lights underwater in the RIVER!...and spared no expense or effort indoors too).

- Property is located about 1 hour from Denver and it is very easy to get to - No I-70 traffic!

4-wheelers can be rented and delivered to the cabin for approx. $100/day if desired. Information is also at the cabin for local dining, casinos, guided fishing tours, grocery stores, hiking and jeep trails, etc. You can 4-wheel/ATV right off the property and into endless amounts of trails leading all the way to the Continental Divide, Winter Park, St. Mary's Glacier, and everywhere in between. The house sits in a beautiful valley surrounded by thick national forest. I also provide a map of the area around the cabin showing all of the Jeep and Hiking Trails available, right in the cabin's backyard! Golden Gate National Park is also only 15 minutes away.

As long as there isn't snow on the ground, a fantastic elaborate Treasure Hunt exists on the property awaits you...and I encourage all ages to do it. Its not easy, and kids will need help from their parents to figure out the clues, but its a TON of fun. I spent over a month and $500 in materials putting it together...you'll love it! And if you figure it out...there will be a buried treasure chest for you to find at the end... As of 2016 there is also an INDOOR treasure hunt! This one too months to do too, and all the clues are hidden inside the cabin. Its not easy, but its a lot of fun, and you'll feel very accomplished when you finish it!

Roads are plowed and maintained by the City of Blackhawk all the way to the cabin. 2-wheel drive accessible year round. Coffee and chocolate are provided, including kitchen condiments, Firewood, Wood Stove Pellets are also there. Easy check-in. A 4-digit access code will give you access for the length of your stay.

Getting around

In the winter I would recommend an all wheel drive car simply because of the possibility of getting a snow storm that could hamper your ability to get to the cabin, or to depart at the end of your stay, but the roads are plowed by the county. In the summer, any 2WD car is just fine and can get anywhere you want to go in the area. There are a lot of 4WD trails up above the cabin though (like tons...you could be gone for days exploring) - so if you want to bring a more capable vehicle and do some exploring you should!

Or sometimes you may just need a little hint to help you through a clue in the treasure hunts and I love helping with that as well! I want to ensure the best stay possible, so I never mind being bothered with even the smallest questions that you might have :)

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Brian (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
