Description

Between Georgian Bay and the Niagara Escarpment, in the shadow of the Blue Mountains is this comfortable, bright, clean and well furnished 2000 square foot, six bedroom; three and a half bath, year-round vacation home. With its amazing views of the nearby ski and snowboarding hills and location in the Georgian Triangle, Mountain House is a great setting for those seeking an active and action-packed vacation.

The Mountain House recently had two of the three floors renovated on HGTV's Income Property and can conveniently accommodate families and responsible groups of up to sixteen. Four comfortable bedrooms with queen beds reside on the first floor with two of these having adjoining three piece ensuite bathrooms, while two more bedrooms are located on the finished lower level, each fitted with two sets of twin bunk beds.

The large, well equipped kitchen includes a microwave and dishwasher. The rest of the house follows in suit, with the spacious living room that features cable TV, as well as a video and stereo system. The dining area is spacious and offers a view of the hills, with a walkout that provides access to a large deck complete with tables, chairs and a gas barbecue for outdoor dining. Just beyond the back door is a spacious and relaxing gazebo-housed hot-tub ready for use. Additionally, there are a number of table games already available at the Mountain House, readily providing hours of entertainment.

Only a five minute drive away is the shoreline of the gorgeous Georgian Bay. The water at this sandy area is shallow and clear, and progressively deepens further from the shore. There are a number of other beaches in the area, including the popular Wasaga beach, a mere 20 minutes' drive away. Closer still is the little known gem called Northwinds Beach, just a few minutes drive. This area comes highly recommended for Windsurfers and Para-sailors as a great location for these sports. Of course, the Georgian Bay always has a number of sights to see, and scenic hiking, biking and walking trips and trails are readily available as well. Additionally, there are also the four-season activities at Blue Mountain Resort, which is only a short walk away from this cottage. In the fall, of course, the colors that appear in this area are breathtaking but something special about Mountain House is that the area can be equally stunning in the springtime along Highway 26, with the acres of apple blossoms and the blue waters of Georgian Bay flanking your drive.

The winter season makes the Mountain House especially attractive. The Blue Mountain Resort is the top ski and snowboard destination in Ontario, and being so close, it makes trips to the slopes very easy. Imagine a day on the slopes with your friends, followed by a relaxing sit in the hot tub with almost no travel time in between. In fact, it would be convenient to break your skiing day into two, separated by a barbecue lunch and steaming dip in the tub.

The Mountain House is available on a weekly basis, though shorter stays may be arranged. Between incredible sights of the mountains and Georgian Bay, the many nearby attractions and the comfort this vacation house provides, your getaway here is certain to be a treat.

How do damage deposits work?
