THE VILLA:

Find your perfect holiday villa, at this exquisitely designed & fitted, mansion house style villa. Purpose built to an exacting design and specification, no expense has been spared creating your perfect holiday home, from the sweeping staircase, to the marble floors, you cannot fail to be impressed with the exceptionally high standards at Casa Espina.

This beautiful and spacious villa comprises four bedrooms, 2 twins and 2 doubles, and sleeps 8. On the ground floor is a large double bedroom, with flat level wet room / shower room, family bathroom, a large open plan lounge & dining area, featuring a large plasma screen, English Free-sat (with over 100 UK channels) and DVD player, as well as a large fitted kitchen, and separate utility area & pantry.

On the upper floor you will find, two twin bedrooms, another family bathroom, with bath & shower, and the Master Suite, with King Size bed, dressing area, and a large en suite shower room. Both the master suite and the rear twin bedroom, have access via french doors to the large rear sun terrace, which overlooks the pool & garden, and the rustic woodlands behind the house.

The large rear garden features a private swimming pool, 8 sun loungers, outside table & seating for 8, covered terrace, and an outside shower. To the front, there is a landscaped garden and parking for two cars.

The property features the latest high speed, unlimited broadband with wifi available across the entire property. All bedrooms feature flat screen TV's with built in DVD players. There are a selection of DVD's and board games for your use, and a large selection of childrens beach toys, buckets and spades etc. For your comfort there is air conditioning to all rooms, and a wood burner making this an excellent summer or winter destination for the whole family or to enjoy with friends.

LOCATION:

The villa is perfectly situated, amongst idylic woodlands, at the very bottom of the village, just two minutes walk away from the sandy beach.

GOLF:

The fabulous Vall d'Or 18 hole par 71 golf course is just a 10 min drive away (8km) on the road towards Cala d'Or. The course (5,539m long from white tees) combines 2 completely different landscapes for the front and back nine. The front nine has rolling fairways surrounded by a forest of pine almond and olive trees. The back nine has wider and more uneven fairways playing down towards the coast road. The golf course is demanding yet entertaining with magnificent views of the coastline. The clubhouse was opened in 1999 and is located on top of a hill. Even non golfers (who are most welcome) can enjoy the stunning views of Porto Colom and Cala d'or from the spectacular canopied sun terrace. A cold beer & club sandwich whilst enjoying the panoramic view is highly recommended. The restaurant, bar and locker rooms offer everything a golfer could wish for. The std.18 Hole Green-fee is around 90 euros (various discounts available).There are also several other good courses in the locality

ACCESSIBILITY:

The two storey villa has not been fully adapted to UK disability building regulations, however, the provision of a ground floor bedroom and bathroom with walk in / wheel in shower, and ramped access from the front driveway to the large rear french doors, means the villa should be able to accommodate the needs of most people. The ground floor is open plan with large french doors to the rear, with sufficient open space for even the largest wheelchair to navigate the house safely & easily. An extra wide front doorway should facilitate alternative wheelchair access if required (although the one shallow step to the front porch does not have a ramp).

FURTHER DETAILS:

Small supermarket selling English papers, fresh bread milk, etc can be found a minutes walk from the villa, going down towards the beach, they are open from 8am-1pm and again from 4pm-8pm, there is a lovely little restaurant alongside. On a Thursday there is a small market at the beachfront from 9am-1pm they have fresh produce, fruit, olives, cheese, clothes hand made gifts, and plants. Further round into the village you will find a larger supermarket, along with restaurants and banks. There are so many beautiful places to discover on the island:-The caves of Drach and the caves of Hams, with their underground lakes and light shows- Mallorca's largest pearl factory at Manacor where you can see the pearls being made into jewellery and a shop where you can purchase them- Discover the quaint fishing village of Porto Cristo- Sit by the harbour and have a drink or a meal at Porto Colom-Why not take a trip on the Starfish boat which you can catch at Porto Colom or one of the many other beautiful coves it visits right down to Cala d'Or and beyond to Cala Mondrego and Cala Figuera (Check the timetable and stop off for an hour or so at one and return on a later boat).

DISCOUNTS:

Bookings of two weeks attract a discount of £100 on the lowest advertised price for the period in question.

Long term stay bookings are available off season from October - April, please contact me with your requirements for more details.

CHECK IN / CHECK OUT:

Unless previously agreed, the villa will be ready for check in after 3pm on the day of arrival and guests must check out by 10am on the day of departure. This is to allow the cleaners to Caen the villa, change the bedding and towels and prepare the property for your arrival.

OTHER DETAILS:

Smoking is only permitted in the outside areas, strictly no smoking inside the villa.

Stays of less than one week, will incur a cleaning charge of €100, payable in cash on arrival.

A full information pack, including directions to the property, will be emailed upon payment of the balance payment.

The keys are located in a key safe, which you can open with a code (provided in the information pack) on arrival at the villa.

We employ a Villa Management Company who are on hand 24 hours a day seven days a week, if you have any problems or need any help. The contact details are displayed at the villa.

Getting around

There are buses to Palma, and along the beaches and resorts of the East coast every day, every few hours, that run from the top of the village. Taxis are available also, and there is a number for a great local taxi service contained within the guest information pack, at the villa.

You will be given a key safe code, prior to arrival, so that you can get the keys on arrival, and don't have to worry about getting there at a certain time to meet someone to get the keys. Prior to arrival, you will be given full contact details for the villa management company who are on hand 24 hours a day should you have any issues.

This villa is lovely and we had the most enjoyable time during our stay, the villa has everything you would need and is lovely and cool with air conditioning in each room.

Dear John, I wanted to share a draft of my review of your villa with you before posting it and give you the opportunity to comment and to see if you feel my review is fair? Regards Helen Don't forget to pack your cleaning materials! Sadly we were not impressed at all at "the high standards" boasted in the description of this villa in fact it was the total opposite. First impressions were that this villa had seen better days and is in need of some maintenance especially the rear of the villa. We were looking forward to trying out the infinity hot tub but we arrived to find it had been out of order for a few weeks but the owner had not warned us in advance. A replacement part arrived a few days before we left which meant the jets worked but the thermostat did not. The paved area around the pool was dirty and desperately need a good power wash and very became very slippery when wet which is a concern for anyone with small children. The sun beds were discoloured and a few of them were broken which actually caused me to hurt myself when the arm of one gave way. The terrace outside the master bedroom was filthy with dead plants in the pots and disgarded cigarette ends thrown in. The villa inside whilst nicely laid out and spacious was extremely dirty and clearly hadn't been cleaned properly for some time. Superficially it looked ok until you looked under the beds, behind furniture the doors and on the woodwork where there was thick dust and hair other things which made us feel ill. We even found a used paint tray on top of one of the wardrobes along with thick dust. The bathrooms were disgusting and there had been no cleaning behind the toilets or the sinks, the plug holes were full of hairs and the toilets dirty. The kitchen appliances were so dirty and greasy especially the fridge, oven and microwave we had to buy cleaning materials and scrub them before we could cook. My daughter was reluctant to even use the kettle to boil water for her baby's bottle because the filter was broken and full of scale. Inside the kitchen cupboards there were stains and sticky marks it was very upsetting to have to clean on our holiday which we had looked forward to for so long. Even the windows were grubby and needed cleaning inside and out. The mattresses were very uncomfortable, well used and old and clearly needed replacing too. We sent photos and video footage of all these issues to the owner of the villa who instructed his maintenance guys to replace the kettle and sun beds. Whilst the villa is well positioned near the lovely beach of Cala Murada, shop and restaurants it is very close to other rental villas and we were unfortunate to have a hen party staying next door who were extremely noisy at night which caused the children in our party and us not to be able to sleep. In its present state, in my view, this villa is not value for money and is not as luxurious as the advert makes it out to be. Hopefully the owner has listened to our comments and has seen our photo evidence and will act on cleaning the villa up. Unfortunately it spoiled our holiday and we were glad to return to our clean homes.

This was our first villa holiday and I can honestly say we definitely picked well, the villa casa espina was a lovely villa it had everything that you needed the pool area was great and as an added bonus it had a lovely big hot tub, the bedrooms were spacious and all the rooms had t.v's, it has a well equipped kitchen and plenty of bathrooms, the owners were very helpful and were on hand at any time if you had any problems, the location was good there is a spar shop and restaurant just a short walk away and a beach with a beach bar and restaurant which was lovely the staff were great and they had evening entertainment twice while we were there which was great, we are definitely going back and are looking forward to our stay there next year.
