La Grande Maison was built around the year 1800 and through its over-200 year history, and renovations in the last 10 years, has lost none of its charm. With an attractive visage and ideal position sitting at the top of the grounds, it is at once imposing but also very inviting.

It has all modern comforts from dishwasher, coffee and espresso machine to satellite television and wireless internet. It is also, of course, centrally heated for the cooler months.

“Stay of a lifetime”

David the owner is super responsive and very happy to advise on "things to see and do" in the area. The property itself is amazing - grand, spacious, plenty of character, a beautiful, functional country kitchen and wonderful peaceful gardens. There were 9 of us and , having traveled all the way from Australia (straight to the villa) , we felt immediately at home with a very warm welcome from a neighbor who handed over the keys and talked us through the home and it's surrounds. The immediate area is full of picturesque country-side and farm houses with some of the cutest villages nearby. Thanks David for allowing us into your beautiful French country home.

“Amazing house in idealic surroundings!”

We stayed as a group of friends in July 2011 for a week, and it was one of the best holidays I have ever had. The house is so impressive and inviting, we spent so much of the week relaxing in the gardens and while we had plans to visit the surrounding villages, we found it hard to leave the house we were so relaxed! When we did, it was so easy to find our way around the beautiful countryside and we found some wonderful restaurants that served some of the best meals, so good I am still raving about them. I would strongly recommend this house, the value for money was fantastic and the house and grounds have to be seen to be believed - it is even more impressive than the photos. I am definitely planning a trip back!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If David (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
