Getting around

The best way to explore the area is by car but you also have the option of learning more about your specific interests with a local guide. A wide range of tours are available including private, customized options that are specially designed for your group. A professional driver with minibus can be arranged. Visit a small, family-owned winery and learn about local wine making traditions dating to the 16th-century; explore hidden coves and beaches by sailboat; discover the area's world class culinary delights and rich cultural history. You can also experience a traditional, hands-on cooking course at the castle with local Catalan chef. Seasonal or bespoke 3-course menu available. Tours/courses are in English.

Interaction with guest

Our local English-speaking host / concierge will meet you at the castle and give you keys, a tour of the property, and help your group feel completely at home. She will be available at specific times during your stay to answer questions and will happily give you insider tips including excellent restaurant recommendations. She can assist with reservations and you will be able to call her at any time during your stay. The castle also has an on-site Caretaker who lives in a separate apartment on the property. The Owners are always available to answer questions about the castle or the area, and provide a detailed 'Activities List' with information and suggestions of a wide range of things your group might like to see or do.

We discovered the castle on our honeymoon and it has always seemed magical to us so it’s lovely to hear you and your guests felt that special quality, too. Jools (and Bessie) are our Super Secret Sauce - you can’t believe how good it is until you’ve tried it! We all truly care about our guests and are constantly seeking to make their castle experience as relaxing, memorable and delicious as possible. Some of the improvements we’ll be making include upgrading the cooktop to something simpler and more practical. The current halogen European-style cooktop looks good in a showroom but is not so easy to use when cooking. The outside space around the pool and bar will be landscaped to conserve water and provide shade to make the entire pool area as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. Thank you again for your valuable suggestions and feedback which can only make our future guests even more comfortable as a result! Best Wishes, William

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If William (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
