Found in the peace and tranquillity of the Andalucian countryside , this beautiful cottage offers a truly relaxing haven away from the stresses of everyday life.

Tucked away down a private drive the cottage is surrounded by almond and olive groves and has spectacular views across the valley and pretty whitewashed villages of the Axarquia.

The private pool is surrounded by gardens and furnished patio/sunbathing terraces. Also a shaded dining area and BBQ.

Inside , the property is maintained to a high standard and is light , airy and comfortable. The fitted kitchen and dining area lead out through French doors onto the patios. The master bedroom has views through French doors onto the pool area and there is also a twin bedroom so is also ideal for families.

The local village of Colmenar is only a short drive and has a good selection of shops, tapas bars, restaurants etc.

The location of the property is ideal for exploring this wonderful area, or just relaxing and enjoying the pool and sunshine along with the obligatory chilled glass of wine.

The property is cleaned and maintained to a high standard and clean linen and towels are provided for guests.

A security deposit of £150/150 euros is required on arrival ,returned on departure as long as there are no breakages etc

A high chair and travel cot can be arranged on request, please ask.

The property is available for longer term rental from October onwards, from £550 pm, please ask .

Starter packs can be arranged for arrivals on request.

There are sunbeds for relaxing around the pool . A dining table and chairs are located in a shady area close to the kitchen area , ideal for al fresco dining. There is also a BBQ.
The views from the property are absolutely spectacular over looking the valley and villages of the Axarquia.
There are plenty of walks around the property.
There is ample private parking directly outside the property.

“Peaceful and relaxing”

I have stayed at Los Establos on several occasions which I guess is a good endorsement in itself the last of which was in June 2013, although set in a tranquil and peaceful location its only 10 minutes drive from Colmenar a small town that still manages to keep its traditional Spanish intimacy intact but is large enough to provide all the amenities necessary for an enjoyable stay. The cottage is well thought out, clean, tidy and well equipped and while modern still manages to retain a rustic feel, the outside area has sun loungers, seating and table and chairs for 'al fresco' dining, the pool while not large, unless your Rebecca Adlington is plenty big enough for swimming and relaxing in. I very much enjoyed sitting outside of an evening with a glass of wine looking out across the valley and taking in the view, although during the day clusters of white villages are clearly visible at night patches of twinkling lights spread down to the foothills of the mountains bringing the whole valley alive something I found very magical and relaxing. The owners of the property Angela & Terry are very helpful and friendly and always available if needed and having lived in Colmenar for many years also have the advantage of being very knowledgeable about the area which was also very useful. If you are looking for somewhere in the countryside that's quiet and relaxing but still carries the home comforts of satellite TV and Wifi yet is only 45 or so minutes from the beach then 'Los Establos' is probably it, I will certainly be returning again.

We were looking for somewhere really peaceful and private. Out of the way to get away from the hectic business of life. Here we found it. The property overlooks the owner's house which is positioned 100 metres away, just below the vista looking towards the mountains. We were a little disappointed that it wasn't quite a private as we first thought it might be; but our concerns were dissipated by the discreteness and privacy shown to us by our hosts. It turned out to be really useful having Angela and her husband close by, as it meant any issues were resolved fairly quickly. Our only complaint was that the loo leaked the day before we left and flooded the bathroom floor and a couple of items in the kitchen were lacking, as were a few handles on furniture, drawers, wardrobes etc. These seemed to be "early season teething problems," so to speak. The cottage itself is perfect for couples or a small family. Really lovely feel. Stylishly decorated, rustic with hints of the moorish influence. Just a little bit more upmarket than your average Spanish villa. We loved it!!! The bedroom has the perfect view across the pool over the mountains. You won't be disappointed booking a week here. The whole place was strewn with carpets of Spring flowers. We had a temperature during the day of 20-23'C throughout the week. The location is excellent, 40 mins from Malaga and the coast and enough small villages and local attractions to keep you interested for days. It should be noted that the driveway to the property is very steep, winding and has an uneven gravel surface, so probably not very compatible with low sports cars. Thanks so much for a wonderful week in Andalucia. We hope to come again...

We had another great holiday in this beautiful comfortable cottage, again. Thank you Angela. This is the second time we have stayed here and love the region. It is an ideal location to explore and this time we visited Ronda and the Alhambra in Granada. We have to say the views are second to none and we spent as much time as possible relaxing around the pool and gardens. Here's to next time.
