Description from manager

Description

Le Bois Hannelais is a very attractive stone farmhouse in a peaceful hamlet, , half way between the wonderful town of Dinan and the safe sandy beaches of the north coast.

The house has been lovingly restored by the current owners and with four bedrooms, large kitchen / dining room and a private enclosed garden, the house is good choice for the larger family group. You can watch the children play in the garden from the sunny terrasse. A 10 minute drive will bring you to the medieval town of Dinan with its intact ramparts, castle and many restaurants. Dinan's port is also great for bike and boat hire, which lead you along the river Rance, with its picturesque scenery. A short drive north will take you to the coast - St Jacut de la Mer is close and has a series of safe family beaches.

On the ground floor there is a well equipped kitchen and living room , leading to a double bedroom with a king size double bed. and ensuite shower room with WC .

On the first floor , there are three more bedroooms, the first has a king size double bed with en suite shower room with WC , the second also has a a king size double bed , and the third has two single beds. On this floor there is a family bathroom with bath, shower and WC

There are also two folding single beds available , for children who prefer to sleep in the same bedroom as their parents.

The rent includes tourist tax and heating/water charges. We can supply bed linen and towels for 20€ per person, or you are welcome to bring your own linen and towels.

The house will be cleaned and checked before you arrive, and you can either clean before leaving, or the end of stay clean service is 75€ .

“Well-equipped and in an idyllic location, Le Bois Hannelais was a real find.”

Reviewed 13 Sep 2015

The house itself is beautiful, with lots of original features and a tremendous sense of space. The finish is excellent, and the minor problems we did encounter (a shower that wasn't draining well) were rectified literally the following day by friendly and helpful caretakers. The garden and outside facilities are lovely - lots of space for eating outside, surrounded by grape vines and figs, and the playhouse was a real boon for my daughters (seven and four). Also nice to have decent wifi and a considerable library of DVDs to pick through of an evening. The one thing we did miss was a cupboard in which to store food - the kitchen is huge, but the cupboards are all full of equipment, though there is a very decent-sized fridge. The local area was also great - Dinan and Dinard were nice to wander around, and there was enough to do with the children that in ten days we didn't spend more than forty minutes in the car (and that was going to Mont St Michel).

Response from the manager Thank you for your thoughtful and detailed comments, very glad you enjoyed the house and area . We'll have a look at the layout of the kitchen, and see if we can improve the storage facilities in the kitchen . Thanks again for booking with us, and hope to see you again soon, Jeremy

“beautifully decorated and extremely well equipped for small children”

We had 4 children aged from 3 years to 6 years. There was a lot of space for play both indoors and outdoors and a lot of toys and equipment thoughtfully provided. The house was a pleasure to stay in; furnished to a very high standard. The beaches were 20 minutes drive (St Cast le Guildo best for children). Car necessary.
