Private spacious fully equipped home on 8 acre forest with deer & wild birds, year round includes wi-fi. In Dorset, by Paint Lake connected to Lake of Bays.

7 minutes to Dorset, 40 minutes to Huntsville, 40 minutes to Algonquin Park or Bracebridge. In Muskoka and Haliburton with all the necessities you need.

The main floor is open concept. Living room with a wood stove WETT certified. Large eat-in fully equipped kitchen. Muskoka room with a hot tub (from Sep 20 to May 18) and treadmill overlooking the private forest full of deers that can often be seen from the comfort of the home.

Master bedroom and 4 piece bathroom, laundry room with washer and dryer can all be found on the main floor. 3 bedrooms on second floor with an office area and a 3 piece washroom. A walkout basement with a gas fireplace and 2 sitting areas, a charming bedroom and a 3 piece bathroom.

A new state of the art automatic generator was installed to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for our guests when there is a power outage.

Round year access. More than 10 cars can park in driveway. Guests have access to the whole 3 floors house. Outdoor in-ground salt water pool and screened cabana (June 1st - Sep 15).

Internet with Wi-Fi, TV, Satellite TV, VCR, DVD player, movies, books, Firepit, Gaz BBQ, porch swing, 2 picnic tables and a patio set for use by our guests. Wheelchair accessible.

Property is close to public boat launch onto Paint Lake which is connected to the lake of Bays network of waterways. Snowmobiling and sledding right outside our door. 10 min walk to Dorset historic covered wood bridge and walking trail. 10 min drive to Dorset famous Tower with the most gorgeous views of Muskoka. Dorset is 5 min away where you can find banking, LCBO, Foodland, postal office, library, museum, rec centre and a variety of quaint restaurants and shops.

Our fully equipped kitchen has a spice rack and various condiments. You will find a few tea bags, hot chocolate, coffee grinds for an emergency brew but since this is a personal taste, please bring your own. Kitchen has microwave oven, kettle, coffee machine, toaster, oven and stove, cooking utensils, etc..Toilet paper, paper towels, beddings and towels are all provided. Bring your own pool towels please. Lots of toiletry, small sewing kit, First aid is also provided. Please bring your own shampoo as again this is a personal taste.

Please note that there 10 beds for 16 guests but we also can provide air mattresses to accommodate up to 23 guests.

Although we do offer free WiFi internet, it is satellite internet and limited per month. We can't even purchase more data if we wanted to. So to be fair to all guests, we limit the usage to 2 GB per day.

We do not accept bookings for High School Proms or Graduations.

For our guests and our safety and security, as well as peace of mind, we have security cameras around the property outside, all in plain sight.

Getting around

Dorset Tower is just a few minutes drive and it provides the most beautiful scenery of the whole area. Algonquin Park is about 35 minutes away and so is Huntsville, both a must see! Bracebridge Santa's village is about 40 minutes away, a great place to spend a day with the young kids. There are various sandy beaches within 15 to 20 minutes drive although Paint lake public boat access, is a few minutes away.

House rules

Keep the house clean. Don't leave garbage outdoors due to wild animals. Garbage must be taken with you by the end of your stay. If left in house, $50 will be charged to you. If left outside, $100 will be charged to you. Please leave all snow boots by the entrance. Keep Hot Tub covered when not in use.
No smoking & NO pets allowed. If pets are brought in or guests smoke in the house, a minimum $500 charge will be added as owner is severely allergic to both. By booking, you accept these rules.
