Starfish Room: This large seaside room offers panoramic ocean views with French doors leading out to the beach. The Starfish theme and the serene colour scheme of blue grays and creams provide a warm relaxing space to enjoy. A king bed with select linens and the in-room jetted tub make for luxury living. There is an adjoining room with a double bed that may be booked to accommodate a third person or if you require separate beds.

There is a hot beverage bar available for your convenience.

Breakfast service is available for $20.00 per person per day.

Getting around

We recommend that guests who book with us, travel with a car if possible. However, many cyclists have stayed with us and have thoroughly enjoyed their time. That is what they came to do.... just be aware that the island is quite hilly and some roads are quite narrow. we have also had guests arrive by kayak, seaplane and boat. We do have car, bicycle and scooter rentals on the island. Bus service operates on major roads around the island. The bus for Fulford runs every 2 hours to coincide with the ferry schedule into the Fulford terminal. It is 1.3 km. from The Beach House to the bus stop on Fulford-Ganges Road.

Interaction with guest

We live on the property full time and will be here to meet and greet you. We have lived on the island for over 25 years and are pleased to share our knowledge of the island with you. There is a "guest directory" in each room with restaurant menus, the featured studios, galleries, out door adventure and the healing arts. We also provide maps and any other information that you require. I co-authored the book, Salt Spring Island: A Place to Be. There is a copy in your room which will share many interesting tales about the people who live here.

The Starfish Room books with the king bed and the Scallop Room is a small adjoining room that can only be booked as an add on for a third person.
The Scallop Room is never booked on it own. This is an adult only space.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Ellie (the owner) a message.

If Ellie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
