About this listing

Come and stay at our warm and welcoming home! Our house is in downtown Gallup--a short walk to the famous Route 66, the art galleries, and fantastic restaurants that Gallup has to offer. Unbelievable hiking and biking at your fingertips.

Our charming 1944 adobe house has hardwood floors, picture windows, and beautiful touches throughout.

We know you'll enjoy your stay with us. We are both active in our community and can't wait to show you around.

The space

We know you'll love it here!

Your room has a queen size bed with clean, white linens and new pillows. We have extra blankets and pillows in the closet for you if you'd like. You'll enjoy the beautiful colors of the sunset each evening from your west-facing windows.

Our house was built in 1944 and has had several updates since then--the bathroom (whew!) and kitchen in particular.

We don't have a TV or cable but do have a projector and screen in the living room that we use for Monday night movies (usually documentaries about issues concerning Gallup--food justice, politics, etc.) with friends. Hope you can join us! We have high-speed internet for streaming videos and watching TV online.

We have a front porch with a small table and chairs--perfect for a sundowner or an early morning coffee!

We are welcome to longer term renters, too, as Gallup draws a number of traveling clinicians and contract workers.

We are also open to early check-ins and late check-outs on a case-by-case basis. Feel free to ask about that!

Our home is safe and secure and in a safe neighborhood.

You can park your car in our driveway. If you have a big camper or are towing something, you can park on the street in front of our house. We have a basement, too, if you, for example, don't want to keep your bikes on the top of the car overnight.

Guest access

Make yourself at home! You are welcome to use our kitchen and laundry facilities (in the basement) as well as spend time with us in the common space. Help yourself to coffee and tea, too!

Other things to note

The space is perfect for one or 2 people. Sorry to say, we are allergic to dogs and cats so cannot accommodate your pets, as much as we wish we could.

Getting around

The Amtrak station is within walking distance (0.4 miles away) and the Greyhound drop off is 6 miles away. Gallup has an Enterprise car rental. The Gallup Express bus service has the routes and schedules on their website. There are several downtown bus stops that are an easy walk from our house.

Interaction with guest

You will be sharing our home with us. Cas works from home and so is available for questions at a moment's notice. Caitlyn works at a non-profit in town. Cas developed an awesome Gallup events calendar, so we can help point you towards what's happening in and around Gallup! We are both very active in the community, enjoy Gallup's Downtown Dinners, hiking, and all of the arts and cultural events in town. We'd be happy to show you around and orient you to Gallup.

How do damage deposits work?

If Caitlyn (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
