The Ranch House Headquarters at Double E Ranch offers an atmosphere very rare: PRIVACY, free from being observed or disturbed by other people. No street lights, just star filled nights. No traffic noise, just the sounds of quiet country, the breeze rustling the leaves of cottonwood and sycamore trees. No concrete buildings, just open spaces filled with natural beauty and wildlife at every turn. No rushing elbow-to-elbow crowds everywhere you look. Just the people and animals that live here. No glitz, glitter, or high-toned life style. No big-city worries filled with people you don't trust. Just an old fashioned ranching environment nearly as it was 100 years ago.

At Double E Ranch what you get is folks who still have no reason to lock doors, who trust and respect their neighbors and offer help without being asked. Our facilities are best enjoyed by independent travelers who don't expect to be entertained, who are self sufficient, resourceful folks wanting to experience a simpler, grounding lifestyle.

Built in the very early 1900's and used as the ranch headquarters "home place", The Old Ranch House has been completely refurbished, upgraded and (just slightly) remodeled, while continuing to reflect the charm and character of the very unique New Mexico Territorial style home. Including the 16'x24' screened Veranda Porch, you'll have nearly 1400 sf of living space to call 'home'.

High ceilings in the living room/dining/bedrooms enhance your sense of natural light filled spaces, with turn a "turn of the century" ambience. Cooking is done in a kitchen will full sized appliances, including dishwasher. Guests are responsible for providing their own food and preparation of meals. A large selection of gourmet spices and condiments are available. You will also be provided a BBQ grill, one bag of charcoal and lighter fluid for outdoor grilling.

Serve up your meals using delicately hand painted china dinner ware (or stoneware dishes) seated at an old oak dining table covered with a 120 year old Irish linen table cloth, trimmed with intricate, hand crocheted lace trim and seating for four.

The intimate living room area includes 1950's wagon wheel sofa and rocker, 4' Cowboy Lamp for reading, large flat screened HD TV setting on a period side board buffet with extra storage space, dvd player and extensive dvd library. Wi-Fi internet is available for streaming movies, email, texting, as well as a land line telephone for receiving calls and making local calls at no charge. However, guests are responsible for bringing a calling card for long distance. Because we sit in a secluded valley, we have NO CELL SERVICE in your house. But, you can receive Verizon service signal by driving a short distance to the top of the hill.

The large master bedroom has a gas fireplace, queen sized bed, 1930's oak armoire imported from England, vintage hand painted table lamps, perfectly refinished pine wood floors throughout the entire house. An antique oak, treadle sewing machine with delicately carved wood trim serve as night table.

Separated from the living/dining room by curtained, double French doors, bedroom number two has a queen bed, antique walnut dresser with mirror, bedside table, and private bathroom with toilet and shower. Western art and authentic ‘cowboy gear’ hang on the walls.

The beautifully designed master bathroom has a vintage cast iron, claw foot bath tub setting under a hand crafted stained glass window are the center of focus. You will enjoy an oversized stall shower with a "rain water" showerhead. Lots of natural light reflecting off the Italian stone floors fill the room with soothing shades of creamy beige and pale yellow. A 1950’s Hoosier cabinet top with etched glass doors offers loads of space for toiletries, thick towels and more.
