Highcliffe House is an upmarket guest house, owned and managed by Jane & Jim Yeomans who have travelled extensively. It is ideally located on the mountainside overlooking Gordon's Bay, with breathtaking sea views across False Bay to Table Mountain and round to the mountains of the Helderberg. Gordon's Bay, known by many as the jewel of the Western Cape, has recently been designated as the start of the Whale Coast Route, further enhancing its claim as the number one base for visiting all of the attractions of the Western Cape, without big city hustle and bustle, and pricing !

We offer three unique self-contained apartments : the 1 bedroom Merlot and Pinotage Suites, and the 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom Riesling Suite. Each suite is spacious, and stylishly furnished to a very high standard, with double en-suite bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, and comfortable lounges. Each suite has a private entrance with direct access from safe private parking, and has either a private balcony, patio or garden, each with individual barbecue facilities and patio furniture for al fresco dining. Each suite has air conditioning, ceiling fans, satellite TV, DVD/CD player and WiFi internet access, as well as many extra luxuries to ensure a comfortable and relaxing holiday.

There are private golf lockers for each suite - Highcliffe House Suites are very popular with golfers as there are 5 championship golf courses within 30 minutes drive. The historic Cape Winelands of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek are all within an hour's drive, while the start of the Helderberg Wine Route, with almost 50 top wine estates, is less than 10 minutes away. Central Cape Town is just 45 minutes, and we are only 25 minutes from Cape Town International Airport.

The location therefore of this superior Guest House provides the perfect venue for enjoying the many attractions of the Western Cape, while providing a warm friendly ambience in which to enjoy an idyllic vacation, in the luxury of your own comfortable suite and with the flexibility of self-catering without having to worry about any chores.

After enjoying the beautiful sights of the area, playing golf, or tasting wine at one of our many superb wine estates, relax by the pool, enjoy a glass of local wine and watch the magnificent sunsets over the Bay, before dining under the stars. The 120 sq m. Pinotage Suite is a very spacious apartment located on the lower level, next to the pool and garden. The large sumptuous bedroom has a kingsize bed (that can be made into twin beds), and a full en-suite bathroom with 'slipper' bath and separate shower. The kitchen is fully equipped, has modern appliances, granite worktops and a bar counter with 2 bar stools, as well as a dining area for 4. The large comfortable lounge has a log fireplace and a sleeper couch for the occasional visitor. The lounge has double aspect onto the pool and garden as well as opening onto a private patio with gas barbecue and patio furniture for al fresco dining. The apartment has stunning mountain views, some sea views, and a private entrance and car park.

All of our suites have ceiling fans and/or airconditioning, satellite TV, DVD/CD players, hi-fi systems, personal safes, hair dryers, radio alarm clocks,quality toiletries, percale cotton lines, extra blankets and many extra luxuries to ensure a comfortable and relaxing holiday

The suites are fully serviced on weekdays, clean towels are provided daily (including beach towels) and bed linen is changed twice weekly. We also offer a deluxe laundry service.

We provide tea, coffee, sugar, milk, sparkling water and condiments on arrival, and can provide breakfast baskets on request.

Highcliffe House is a superior guest house located on the mountainside in a very quiet, yet well lit area of Gordon's Bay. All guests have safe private parking (including spaces for a trailer). The very attractive gardens are well maintained and attract a wide variety of birdlife. Guests can enjoy their own patio, balcony or garden of whichever apartment they are in, and use the heated pool, terrace and garden with other guests - a maximum of 8 at any one time. There are sun loungers, chairs, umbrellas and a large awning on the terrace, as well as a large patio table and 8 chairs which guests are also welcome to use, should they so wish. There is also an indoor gas barbecue, which guests can also use on windier days. All areas are well lit and easily accessible. the whole property is fenced and secure.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Jane (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
