Looking for a quiet romantic lakeside getaway cottage for two? An intimate adult's only destination? A private gated entry getaway for couples only? That's what we offer here at The Sugar Shack, Haliburton's #1 Cottage Country vacation destination for couples, 2 hours outside of Toronto. Located on the beautiful Great Canadian Shield, our newly renovated, two story, one bedroom, year round, intimate cottage with outdoor hot tub and wood burning fireplace is nestled in a cozy forest setting on a professionally landscaped lot. By offering a midweek one night promotion this fall and a two night minimal weekend package year round excluding July and August when we only offer a 7 night minimum rental, we are the perfect getaway for special occasions, such as an anniversary or a honeymoon. located 3 miles from the main highway on a year round maintained gravel cottage road hemmed in by backwoods. An all wheel drive or 4x4 vehicles is needed only from November through April as we are in the Snowbelt. The Perfect Winter Wonderland Location!

From the moment you arrive, your attention will be drawn to a propane bbq, an "EGG" for smoking, a classic charcoal BBQ, a personal outdoor fireplace, and a beautiful year round hot tub with mood lighting on your private deck.Once you open the front door you will be in awe of the authentic adobe wood burning fireplace ready for you to light to set the right mood.  For entertainment, we offer a 60 inch flat screen with surround sound. The kitchen is outfitted with dazzling granite counter tops and all the amenities of home, including a wide variety of seasonings. When you head upstairs to our country inspired open concept bedroom, you'll find a Roman bathtub for two, a European Style sink, and a separated private area for the lavatory. Enjoy using our a sizable projection screen  that can connect to your laptop for an evening of Netflix. Sliding glass doors take you out onto a roof top balcony that shelters you from rain, sun and snow, making it cozy for taking in a belvedere  forest view and night sky in all seasons. You can enjoy your morning coffee or a romantic outdoor dinner under a million stars thanks to the outdoor dining area located on the deck or the private balcony just outside your bedroom overlooking a stoned landscaped fire pit. Relax in the quiet, adult only slice of heaven on well groomed grounds maintained by a local Landscaping company, surrounded by majestic woodland.  Keep your eyes open for Canadian wildlife that has been known to wander through from time to time to snack on the fresh vegetation. With a 4 pm check in time, our guests can enjoy an exquisite sunset on your private dock at the dazzling lagoon beach. We are the only cottages to have own driveway leading to the lakeside (all-wheel or 4x4 is required. If you dont have it, not to worry.. We have stairs), where you can enjoy a weed-free swimming area, a private dock for sun bathing and a complimentary canoe.  With a extended 4 pm check-out you can enjoy more free time!

With two cottages, each unique in architecture, atmosphere and charm: The Sugar Shack and the Eagle's Nest. The Sugar Shack has a South view of the forest while our second cottage, The Eagle's Nest, facing West has a lake view 250ft away with a curtain of hardwood pine forest, giving both cottages plenty of privacy. The common area is a great place to mingle with the other cottagers, if you wish. Enjoy an epic bonfire, complements of your gracious host, for you to join or choose to watch from the solitude of your balcony with your partner or your very own fire on the deck.

 We offer a perfect couple getaway for honeymooners, outdoor enthusiasts, and power sport lovers. Bring your own toys or rent them from us; we deliver, or join us on a guided 2-hour adrenaline rush or 4-hour epic adventure at our Dwight location. We are ranked #1 Off-road experience on Trip Advisor in Ontario. A Must Do! We offer a midweek couples ATV adventure rental package during October and November, 2 ATV's with 8 hours rental duration, where you can get to meet your host. The host will go over the ATV operations and give a safety lesson before you head out on your rental adventure. This package is only available when the host is on site. VIP pricing is as follows:$499, regularly $600, a bonus of the $250 delivery fee waived (includes; 2 ATV's, 2 Helmets & Safety lesson) for a limited time for you to explore Haliburton's forest trails. How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
