Please note, this property is under new ownership as of 2019 and has received extensive renovations at many of its cottages and amenities.

The Trace at Oak Lake is located on beautiful Oak Lake in The Kawarthas, just north of Havelock, Ontario in welcoming Peterborough County.

We are an ages 19+ four-season resort that is perfectly wrapped by 1,200 feet of crystal clear shoreline with amazing views. Avid sports enthusiasts will enjoy this semi-private (no public access) lake with superior Walleye (Pickerel) and Bass fishing along with Perch and other pan fish. Don't forget to try our ice fishing!

Located near crown land, The Trace offers shoreline picnics, hiking trips, and incredible weed-free swimming.

Exceptional fishing all year round. Ask us about our ice fishing huts.(Zone 15)

Enjoy hunting on pristine crown land (WMU 60A District) for moose, deer, bear and small game.

Try snowmobiling or ATV'ing. The trails are accessible directly from The Trace.

Onsite Rentals: boat, motor, canoe, kayak and paddle boats.

Swimming, hiking trails, and more.

The property consists of 10 beautifully appointed cabins and 10 chalet/townhouses. All units at The Trace feature a fully functional kitchen and bath. For 2019, The Trace has received all-brand new hotel-quality beds, mattresses, and linen service.

Cabins range in style and function from classic/rustic to freshly updated modern cottages. Rocky Point (cabin pictured at the tip of the property) has received a complete overhaul becoming a luxurious king-studio (sleeps 2, in style!). Cabins come in Studio, 2-bed, and 3-bed configurations.

Our chalet/townhouses have all been fully renovated and come in either superiod king 1-bedroom (sleeps 3) or queen studio (sleeps 2) configurations.

For 2019, The Trace has also been updated with a beautiful cedar barrel sauna and 45-foot armor stone terrace along the shoreline for sunbathing, and lakeside yoga.

Why can't I call Tom (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
