Description

Privately-owned thatched self-catering chalet (sleeping maximum of 6 people) on the award-winning Legacy Hotels, Kruger Park Lodge golf estate in Hazyview, Mpumalanga. Located in a peaceful area of the estate, overlooking a golf fairway. One of the resort swimming pools is a short stroll from our house. There is one double bedroom upstairs with a balcony looking out over the fairway to the hills on the far bank of the River Sabie. Two twin bedrooms downstairs, one with a door out on to the large wooden braai deck. All bedrooms are air-conditioned and have duvets. Three bathrooms, all with a bath and two of them have a separate shower. Spacious, open-plan living/dining/kitchen area. A baby cot (subject to availability from housekeeping) can be provided.

Short or long stays are possible. Please e-mail to check availability as the on-line calendar is not being used.

Access to the house is via a short flight of steps (at both front and back), with handrails either side. Car port for two cars. It would be difficult to get the most out of a stay without a car.

The house offers full self-catering facilities, including a coffee filter machine - important in a coffee producing part of the country! Daily housekeeping is not included as many guests prefer to enjoy the peace and quiet. But it is available (and is not expensive) for those who wish. The house is surrounded by indigineous trees and is a bird-watchers paradise, with Brown-hooded Kingfishers and Paradise Flycatchers being seen regularly in the trees surrounding the house.

Facilities at Kruger Park Lodge:

The 9-hole (18 tee) golf course was designed by Gary Player. Golf carts, clubs etc can be arranged through the on-site Pro-Shop.

Other facilities include:

- wi-fi available at Reception (small charge)

There is a restaurant and a safari desk in the main Reception area. Game drives, adventure sports etc can be organised through the safari desk, with tour operators direct or through one of the tourist offices in nearby Hazview.

Kruger Park Lodge has 24/7 security provisions.

Facilities in Hazyview:

Hazyview is a fast-developing small town at the south-western end of the Kruger National Park (nearest entrance to the Park, Phabeni Gate, is just 12 kms away; the Paul Kruger Gate is about 40 kms away) and offers:

- supermarkets (Checkers, Pick 'n Pay, Spar)

- liquor stores

- a craft market and souvenir shops

- small shopping mall

- medical centres

- hairdressers

- spas

- Post Office

Sightseeing:

From our house you can choose from the following, and more, for short trips:

- Blyde River Canyon (a World Heritage Site), the Three Rondavels and God's Window

- Bourke's Luck Potholes

- the historical town of Pilgrim's Rest

- the scenic town of Barbeton combined with a visit in to Swaziland

- the provincial capital of Mbombela (Nelspruit); you are then only an hour or so from Mozambique

How do damage deposits work?
