Description

This is our family cottage on the water's edge with private sandy beach on crystal clear Newfound Lake in Hebron NH, on the west shore so you can see the sunrise and the glow of sunset on the mountains across the lake. This is a vintage cottage but it has everything for a great family vacation and like visiting "Grandma's Beach House". It is rustic and campy in a private setting with 100' of frontage on Newfound Lake. Private beach and sitting area with a deck and an excellent location for fishing, canoeing, kayaking. There are two quality sea kayaks, life jackets, paddles, a canoe, sand chairs, beach chaise lounges, inflatable tubes/toys and inflatable boat all available. The crystal clear water provides a excellent swimming with a waterfront deck that overlooks a private sandy beach and swim area. An excellent place for small children with a gradual slope on the beach and a very protected cove. There is large picnic table and gas grill overlooking deck and beach for outdoor dining. There is both a screened in porch as well as a lakeside deck that both offer great views of the lake while sipping your morning coffee or evening cocktail. There is wireless internet and cable TV. In the evening, light the tiki torches and sit lakeside with cocktails, enjoy a bonfire lakeside, make smores and listen to the loons. The calling of the loons is a beautiful sound in the evenings. A private lakeside on Newfound Lake is a vintage vacation few get to experience. The Lake views, the mountain views, the private sandy beach, the evening campfires, moon beams across the lake and the ducks and loons swimming by, the outdoor living just does not get any better then this. Pet friendly with approval and refundable security deposit.

This is not a typical rental but a private owned vintage cottage that I grew up in and a very special lakeside experience with your own private beach, your own private waterfront deck, your own lakeside fire pit, your own lakeside picnic table and NO association or condo sharing and NO road between the cottage and the lake.

•If interested, please message the following information: amount of overnight and day guests, description of any pets, dates interested and how flexible you are on dates.

•This is a private family cabin and is set up to use as if you were a family member. There is no housekeeping and no cleaning fee BUT we expect you to be considerate of our neighbors and return the house in the condition you found it. There is a security deposit fully refundable if the cottage is left as you found it.

•The Check in and Check can be flexible in most cases and can be discussed. In general Check In time is after 4 Pm and Check Out time is 10 AM.

•It is not set up like a typical rental. It has been in the family for a long time. Therefore it is filled with non valuable personal items and food items in kitchen and refrigerator. You are welcome to use the cabin like you are family and the food items such as spices, flour, sugar, and condiments.

•You must have a cell phone for emergency purposes as there is no land line phone on the property.

•Bring bottled water and ice for drinking water. There will be some left for you.

•All the kayaks, canoes, paddles and adult life vests are available for you to use. A quiet morning or evening kayak paddle to the islands is something you must do! You must supply children's life vests. There is a catamaran on the property. We ask that you do not use it or allow your children to play on it.

• Limited towels and bedding will be ready for your use but there is no washer or dryer options except a laundromat in Bristol (8 miles). I will do laundry upon your departure. If you use a lot of towels and pillows, you may want to bring your own especially beach towels.

•Pets that are friendly and well behaved are welcome with prior approval with a $50 per pet per stay fee.. Some breeds are not accepted for insurance purposes.

•An enclosed hot water shower is located outside and there is no shower inside.

•The beach area varies over the summer according to weather and lake level. Traditionally it is least amount of beach in early summer but this will vary according to weather factors.

•The nightly and weekly rates vary by midweek, weekend, season and holiday. Please put in the dates and number of guests for an accurate quote. Rates are based on up to four guests. Additional overnight and day guests are $25 per person per day.

•Please be honest on the amount of people that will be overnight or day guests. In general the max I will accept is six but I am willing to work with your needs. Feel free to discuss. Security deposits will not be returned if more people are on property then stated without prior approval. This includes day guests as well as overnight guests. It is an old septic system and we ask you to be honest and no large gatherings or parties will be allowed.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
