Description

Enjoy a quiet stay in an 1834 stone farmhouse on 100 acres with high-end kitchen. This is a quiet country home in Elgin, Quebec is only 10 minutes from Huntingdon, and a short drive to Malone NY. It is situated directly on the US/Canadian boarder and is only about an hour to downtown Montreal. The house has been upgraded tastefully and has kept almost all of the old charm of the 1800's. The bathrooms are older but clean and the house has several air conditioners. There are 3 fireplaces and a working cook stove in the kitchen. Extra sleeping space is available with small single cot or inflatable mattresses for children if required.

This is an amazing property with an in-ground pool and 100 acres of field and forest to explore. Only 1 hour from Montreal and minutes from the United States boarder. Enjoy golf or skiing in Malone (20 minutes away) or spend the day in Lake Placid. The 9 hole Trout River Golf Course is just down the road or enjoy Kayaking the Chteauguay River or Trout River with the Kayak Safari Tour team only 10 minutes away in Huntingdon.

There is a massive pond that I TRY to keep clean throughout the winter for skating/hockey!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Daryl (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
