Summer at a cottage in the hills…

Perhaps you imagined serene peaceful landscapes. Perhaps you thought it were private tranquil moments with your loved ones. Perhaps you thought it was ‘me’ time in undisturbed ambiance.

Those who visited us reflect so. We speak from a family owned estate, a place we often visit for relaxation and comforting moments. A chance interaction led us to offer our estate to like-minded families, wanting to feel at home in a home in the hills.

About the estate:

Ours is an exclusive private property, whose vantage points offer ever-stretching views of the sub-Himalayan mountain ranges. A quiet place, with an ‘old world’ charm, the estate offers you a private setting to deepen your family bonds. The fresh pine fragrance, tranquil, crisp and clean air makes the space frequently visited by a range of en-route migratory and local birds.

Since this is also our second home, the upkeep and amenities are complete and hygienic as would be in any well to do home. Should you expect the frills of a commercial property, perhaps this estate might not be the right place for you. We only charge enough to make sure the estate is maintained well while earning a very nominal profit. Whether you book one room or all the rooms at either of the levels, we do not cross book the remaining rooms, at the level, with other guests. We lend the space privately, and hence are available at an affordable premium.

What can you expect to do here, and what is it that the place can be best avoided for:

If you are fond of the hills and treasure the quiet with not much to do save spending time with your loved ones, this is the ideal place for you. You could play TT in the estate, read a book on a hammock or a swing (whichever is then available), go for long undisturbed walks on very navigable mountain trails offering their windflower blooms. You could listen (complimentary) to the owners Ghulam Ali collection or watch the dimly lit night sky. If you are a shutter bug, you could click beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and should you be even more patient then wait upon our avian visitors to get that perfect wildlife shot.

This is the place for the creative, quiet and peaceful souls. The place is visited by creators, writers, photographer and spiritual healers. If you love loud music, love partying, addicted to activity, then the estate is an incredibly wrong place for you to be at. If frequent power outages are not considered opportunity to be more in alignment with the nature, then this place may offer you an instance or two of discomfort.

Who else visit us?

Big families looking for a place to spend their holidays with children occupied in indoor or outdoor games, but within the estate, are our regular guests. Young couples getting together to make some memories and enjoy the lawns privately keep coming back to us.

So, come over! Enjoy your moment of peace at our place. Borrow a book from our shelves; get engrossed with a steaming cup of coffee, and do NOTHING!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Shikha (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
