Standard check in time is 3 pm and checkout is 11 am, this is often flexible particularly in non summer months.

In addition, during the summer (we are flexible fall thru spring) we prefer 4-7 day bookings but given we will accommodate varied turnover days (and the occasional 2-3 night weekend reservation) this inevitably results in 2-3 day vacant periods between longer reservations which we need to allow at certain points during the summer. Hence we have set our minimum stay at 2 nights although in general we prefer longer rentals.

Certainly, inquire if you are interested in a shorter stay, but we can not guarantee we will be able to accommodate those request.

We are surrounded by nature--our home backs onto a forested hiking trail, and we can see Chicopee Ski resort from our front porch. We are also a 15-minute drive from the very cosmopolitan uptown Waterloo.

Our home is unique in several ways. It is a custom built chalet-style home, built primarily using old-world materials (lots of reclaimed wood and stone). Our backyard is landscaped as a small oasis, and borders on a hiking trail that goes for kilometres through the forest and along the Grand River. In the winter, we can go snowshoeing along the trail, exiting directly from our backyard. Two minutes from our home there is access to the Grand River, where you can canoe or kayak enjoy the peace and beauty of the river (we provide 2 canoes, 1 kayak, and a means to transport them). There are also several beautiful biking trails close to our home, and again, we offer the use of 1 mountain bike, 1 hybrid bike, 2 road bikes, as well as children's bikes. Our home's location offers the best of both rural and urban features, however, as we are also located just minutes from a commercial area that boasts all of the amenities of a large urban centre, such as a good shopping mall, many restaurants, a children's museum, a rock climbing facility, art galleries, etc.

For a day trip, we are a 30 minute drive from the idyllic, artistic town of Elora. This town is built around the river, and boasts gorgeous old stone buildings and a myriad of artisan shops----amazing shopping to find unique home décor, clothing, and jewellery.

We are a 30-minute drive to Stratford, a beautiful town which hosts the renowned Statford Shakespearean festival.

We are a short 1-hour drive to Toronto.

The available beds are2 king, 1 double and 1 room with the double/queen bunk beds. High end inflatable nylon (as opposed to vinyl) mattresses (both queen and twin) available on request.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
