The apartment Chiara is situated on the top of our house on island Kolocep.

Apartment have two bedrooms and bathroom with toilet. There is modern dining room and kitchen which is equipped with cooking stove, fridge with freezer, kettle and microwave. Washing machine is also available. Apartment is near the sea and a couple of minutes from the bar and restaurant. Washing machine is also available. Guests can enjoy in the terrace with view of the garden.

There is a big garden with a lot of olive trees, seasonal fruits and vegetables and you can try homemade olive oil.

Kolocep is the closest island to Dubrovnik, located 5 kilometers (3 miles) from the Dubrovnik harbour of Gruz. Kolocep is car free and ideal for taking relaxing. It is nature paradise,overfilled with hidden bays and sandy beaches, covered with thick pine Forrest and Mediterranean vegetation. There are few old churches and two villages on Gornje and Donje Celo. The Blue Cave is 500 m away. A grocery shop is located in the center of Kolocep, 1.5 km away.

There are lot of things to do at the island Kolocep. The guests can swimming, diving and fishing in clean sea or rent kayak. The entire area is full of running and cycling trails.

The island of Kolocep can be reached by regular "Jadrolinija" ferry service by a ship named "Postira". The boat stops at a pier 100 m from the Sea Dream Kolocep Villa.The boat sails four times a day. We offer also transfer with private boat. Price in one direction during the day (07 00-22 00) is 30 euros and 50 euros during the night (22 00-07 00).

We spent one week in Chiara's appartment and we really enjoyed it. Everything was clean and confortable. We reaaly appreciated being close to beaches and our sons (7 and 11) had a great time there ! Luksa and his family are very helpful : he helped me when I once needed to see a doctor, his mother offered us some fish, some fruits... She is very nice. She also sells products from her garden (delicious tomatoes, potatoes...). It's very convenient because the shop is about 20 mn walking, at the other village in the island and is rather small. You can easily buy fruits, bread, beverages, yogurts but it's not that easy to buy meat. We didn't use internet nor the washing machine (the charge is not included in the price of the appartment) but it was possible. We chose to be picked up by boat by Luksa's father in Dubrovnik and it was very convenient. We didn't use the nice terrace with the view on the sea because it's not completly private (Luksa's family use it and some other guests as well). We were allowed to go but we finally stayed on a other small terrace, just for us.

Our stay in Kolocep was wonderful. To be able to walk from one end of the island to the other in half an hour or so, and where there are no cars, was such a different experience to what we are used to in the UK. The low-key, simple life at a slow pace suited us just fine, and even our teenage daughters loved it - they really enjoyed swimming in the warm sea from the tiny beach just a few dozen metres away. But what really set the experience apart was the kindness of our hosts. They treated our daughters as though they were their own family. One evening, we had mistimed our trip out for supper and had resigned ourselves to canned tuna sandwiches from our fridge, but as we came up the path, our hosts were grilling their own supper of freshly-caught sardines. A huge pan of sizzling hot sardines was offered to us and we feasted heartily on them.

“Fantastic apartment on a fantastic island and a perfect host”

We stayed during early August in the appartment for a week, my wife and I and 2 children aged 11 and 16. We could not fault any aspect of the accomodation on the charming island, its so lovely and quiet. We were glad we had booked to stay in Gonje Celo, the smaller (and much quieter) of the 2 villages on Kolocep, the stroll between the two was lovely. The small harbour side restaurant which is just a 4 minute walk from the appartment is charming, the food is great and not at all expensive. We had a choice of swimming spots close to the appartment, either a rocky bay with diving and snorkelling 5 minutes one way or a sandy beach (which would have been ideal even for non swimmers) next to the harbour 3 minutes down the hill. The family who own the apartment are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, we loved our time there and would recommend it to anyone 100% we have suggested it to several friends as a perfect base for a quiet holiday whilst being close to the mainland for serious sightseeing in Dubrovnik. (the ferry is a 15 minute stroll to Donje Celo then 20 minutes on the boat into Dubrovnik. (or you can get a private boat)

“A perfect retreat with generous local hospitality”

Upon arriving on the ferry from Dubrovnik our host greeted us at the harbor. We were taken to the apartment via golf buggy and enjoyed a great lunch of fish soup followed by pasta with beef escallops - the first of several delicious meals we shared with the host and family. Fresh fruit was delivered to our door in the mornings, and home made jam, it was great. The apartment was better than the description and the photos simply hint at the wonderful setting and amazing sea views stretching over towards Dubrovnik. I'd recommend this apartment and would certainly stay there in again. The island itself is a perfect get-away, the water is great for swimming and kayaking and close to Dubrovnik.
