Description

Apartment Maria is situated on the top of our house in a village of Gornje Celo at Island Kolocep.

Apartment is near the sea and a couple of minutes from the bar and restaurant. Apartment Maria is equipped with air conditioning, wireless internet, double and sofa beds.

There is modern dining room and kitchen which is equipped with cooking stove,fridge with freezer, kettle and microwave. Washing machine is also available. Guests can enjoy in the terrace with view of the garden. There is a big garden with a lot of olive trees, seasonal fruits and vegetables and you can try homemade olive oil.

Kolocep is the closest island to Dubrovnik, located 5 kilometers (3 miles) from the Dubrovnik harbour of Gruz. Kolocep is car free and ideal for taking relaxing. It is nature paradise,overfilled with hidden bays and sandy beaches, covered with thick pine Forrest and Mediterranean vegetation. There are few old churches and two villages on Gornje and Donje Celo. The Blue Cave is 500 m away. A grocery shop is located in the center of Kolocep, 1.5 km away.

There are lot of things to do at the island Kolocep. The guests can swimming, diving and fishing in clean sea or rent kayak. The entire area is full of running and cycling trails.

The island of Kolocep can be reached by regular "Jadrolinija" ferry service by a ship named "Postira". The boat stops at a pier 100 m from the Sea Dream Kolocep Villa.The boat sails four times a day. We offer also transfer with private boat. Price in one direction during the day (07 00-22 00) is 30 euros and 50 euros during the night (22 00-07 00).

“For a very quiet stay in a beautiful restful island, this is highly recommended.”

We spent 5 days here in the most peaceful part of this already peaceful island. The apartment is in a house which is situated overlooking the small harbour with one charming restaurant in it. There is a 15 minute walk to the larger harbour in the island with a couple of restaurants and small shop. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and the family could not have been more helpful or welcoming . Maria was always bringing a generous bowl of fruit from her orchard or something she had just cooked for the family. For a very quiet stay in a beautiful restful island, this is highly recommended.

The apartment is cosy and very recently decorated, with lots of natural light and a nice patio. The hosts are extremely friendly and generous. The island is small with no cars; it's fun to explore the forest path along parts of the coast, and to walk along the winding path from one small village to the other. Good bathing spots and great fun to hire a kayak and go round the island or across to other islands. There's a small food shop where you can get essentials.

If you are looking for a quiet retreat in beautiful surroundings I would definitely recommend going to Kolocep. The island is so peaceful - you can easily find somewhere that you'll be left alone all day (if that's what you want), otherwise head into the tiny village and sit among the few friendly locals that you'll find by the harbour. On arrival, we were met at the port in Donje Celo by Luksa (Luksa and his family own the apartment which sits on top of the family house) who let us know that his father was coming to pick us and our bags up in their boat to take us around to the other side of the island in Gonje Celo where theirs is one of a handful of houses. His mother, Maria, showed us the apartment and welcomed us with coffee and strudel. It was such a lovely welcome. The apartment itself is both well set out and finished to a high standard. Both the views from the kitchen/living room and bedroom had wonderful views across the sea towards the mainland. The apartment benefits from a balcony overlooking the garden with lemon and orange trees, but we were welcome to use the family terrace too downstairs. Another apartment was next to ours who had a terrace on another level which had sea views. We really liked the fact that there was a separation of spaces, which allowed you to have privacy to enjoy your holiday without feeling like you were on top of the people staying in the other apartment. Maria has a lovely garden full of vegetables and was always coming to bring us tomatoes and peppers etc. to cook with., as well as dishes of Croatian food. It was meant to be a self-catering holiday, but we felt so looked after. It was so kind and the whole family are a delight to stay with. To sum up: if you are looking for somewhere truly peaceful where you can go and relax this is an ideal place to stay. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

We spent 4 nights at Apartment Maria on Kolocep Island and it was a wonderful experience. When we arrived from Dubrovnik on the ferry we were greater by our warm and welcoming hosts. They took us in a small fishing boat to the apartment so we would not have to carry our luggage. The apartment was large and spotlessly clean and had two balconies with beautiful views of the sea and the surrounding gardens where we sat and drank. The island is beautiful and tranquil. You can walk on wooded paths to little coves where you can sit and swim in the warm, calm sea. Staying with the Musladin family was the perfect way to experience it. Luska showed us the main village and took us to hear music in its bar. Maria treated us with much home cooking and showed us her huge garden, with olive and fruit trees. They were all generous and warm and treated us as an extension of the family. We will return as soon as we can and have recommended it to all our friends and family.
