This beautiful, spacious two bed roomed apartment is situated on the prestigious Flamingo Country Club complex (FCC) overlooking Lake Tuzla and it is just 15 minutes from Bodrum Airport. You can enjoy the best of both worlds here as it is in a peaceful location yet Bodrum is only 25 minutes away should you crave the hustle and bustle of the town.

Within a few steps there are stunning views over Lake Tuzla and a large communal pool is only a few strides away, you can even watch the children play in the pool from the veranda. It is fully air-conditioned and the rooms are beautifully furnished and the kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials. The veranda is ideal for Alfresco dining and there is a small garden.

Flamingo Country Club has great facilities including 22 communal pools, a gym, sauna, indoor pool, mini-golf for the kids, playground, toddler pool but you can also use the facilities of its' sister complexes, Turquoise, Lakeside Gardens and Royal Heights, only minutes away by free shuttle bus.

Although the location is off the beaten track a bit, in the hills overlooking Lake Tuzla on one side and the sea on the other, it is only about 5 miles off the main road from Bodrum airport to Bodrum.

Each of the complexes has their own pools, shop and restaurants/bars etc. The next nearest town is Guvercinlik which is about 5 miles away and there is a smaller village Bogazici about 3 miles away, renowned for it's fish restaurants and boat trips.

As regards other local shops & restaurants, within walking distance you have just outside the front entrance to FCC a shop stocked with all the basics, it is also a small café and bar called Ocean View. The best stocked and largest shop, Migros supermarket, is about a 5 min walk from the FCC entrance and stocks most things including fresh fruit & veg.

Also beside this shop is the Sunset Café which is quite a popular bar and restaurant, and is so called because of the views of lovely sunsets you get in the evenings. You can also use the shop, bar and restaurant at the Turquoise complex and the restaurant & bar at the Royal Heights complex. These are within walking distance but a free shuttle bus runs there and back from FCC every so often. After that you are looking at a dolmus (bus) ride to the supermarket & restaurants in either Guvercinlik or Bogazici. There is also a restaurant at the Vita Park golf course which would be a 10 min car journey away.

There are numerous communal pools throughout FCC and at the FCC Clubhouse there is a larger pool and child's pool with slide. There is an indoor pool at the clubhouse also, together with gym and sauna etc. You are also free to use the pools and facilities at each of the other sites.

I am not aware of any beaches within walking distance. There is a small man made beach at the Royal Heights Beach Club and another couple which can be accessed by getting a short free shuttle from the Sunset Café or Ocean View.

Cars can be hired locally by the day and there is a taxi rank and dolmus bus stop close to the entrance to the complex, so if you want to go further a field for a day or 2 you could. Day trips etc can be arranged from the local offices with local pick ups also.

My apartment is ground floor although there are a few steps leading to the entrance. The Apartment complex is on a hill which means there can be a lot of hills and steps to negotiate.

“A lovely family memory, and great value”

The owner was very helpful, giving us useful information before we arrived and making good suggestions for getting the best from our stay. The apartment was clean and well-appointed, really good value for money. The children had plenty of space of their own, including their own bathroom, while we had a very comfortable double bedroom with en suite bathroom. The on-site management company were very friendly and helpful. The facilities at Flamingo were also good - a well-maintained pool 20 meters from the apartment and other, larger pools close by, as well as a tennis court, an ok restaurant and other facilities we didn't make use of. We didn't have a car (apart from renting one - locally, cheaply and easily - for a couple of days to get out sight-seeing) but found the free shuttle service to a nearby beach very handy, and the dolmus buses to Bodrum and elsewhere very reliable. Highlights included a guided tour round Ephesus (arranged by No Frills in Selcuk) and a wonderful boat-trip which we booked through the nearby Ocean View cafe. We met at the cafe and were driven to the boat in nearby Bogazici, then had a full day out (including lunch and stops for us to swim from the boat) for 50 lire a head - about what a meal in a Bodrum restaurant would cost. Great memories.

We stayed around the corner on the Flamingo complex last year in a lovely apartment , this apartmnent was much, much cheaper but much nicer. It had all the things you need on holiday, plenty of space for a 16 year old teenager along with 2 bathrooms both with showers which was great. The apartment had 2 bedrooms, washing machine, large fridge/freezer cooker etc etc all in great working order. The apartment was in pristine condtion and situated in a great location for all 3 complex's and the Ocean View bar/mini market. There is a large supermarket just been built which is a 5 minute walk away. We will definitely return to this property again with Mr Burns consent of course!!! The booking with the owner was faultless, great communication and lots of useful info provided 10/10
