Description from owner

Description

Stunning fisherman's cottage, newly renovated, in one of loveliest positions in Brittany. They say position is everything! And this is as good as it gets!! On the River Rance, between St Malo and Dinan, in the hamlet of Port Lyvet, by the marina and Le Chatelier lock.

Its quiet and peaceful, but not at all remote

Bar, restaurants, all nearby.

Local markets most days, brilliant seafood - the best in the World in our opinion!

The owner is a well know artist, exhibiting in UK, France and Turkey, and the decor reflects this - some art, prints, cards available for sale.

Towels are not provided, but contact the owner if you wish to hire them (£10 per per person per week)

CHANGEOVER DAY: I try to be as flexible as possible, but the French management company do not work weekends, so I prefer a changeover Mon-Fri if possible. ( However this is often convenient, because the fares are cheaper on the ferries mid week.) But I will try to juggle dates to fit in with your plans.

“Perfect, pet friendly, peaceful riverside location opposite yacht harbour”

Reviewed 24 Sep 2017

This is a charming little old fisherman's cottage, right on the river Rance. Just wonderful for walks along the river and through woods, very quiet with little traffic, yachts moored opposite provide some interest and a couple of little bars/cafés nearby. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, a real family home. We did feel the bedroom downstairs is best suited to younger people or children! but great to have two separate bathrooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the area is fantastic, we actually walked to Dinan and back along the river and the little towns and villages nearby are fascinating. The slipway at La Cale was fabulous with terrific restaurant and bar.

“Perfect holiday destination”

Reviewed 3 Mar 2015

This is a lovely little 2 bed cottage nestled in the port Lyvet. It has a wonderful French ambience with traditional decor mixed with modern accoutrements. The garden was brilliant for al-fresco meals with a wooden patio for those warm summer evenings to sit with a glass of vino. We really loved the house and the area was so interesting with different places to explore and things to do every day
