Description

A large, bright and sunny, west facing apartment with 6 'Juliet' balconies, over looking the central plaza at the front of the old town in the centre of Laredo. 5 minutes walk to the large sandy bay. Sleeps 6 comfortably.

Now booking for Autumn 19 and Spring/Summer 2020.. Stay in our light and bright top floor 3 bedroom apartment in block of 3. The property is in a 600 year old listed building which has been tastefully restored and modernised. It is situated at the beginning of the historical quarter of Laredo with views of the mountains and town square. The apartment is surrounded by 6 Juliet balconies. 1 double bedroom with balcony, a twin room with balcony, and the 3rd bedroom is the loft room, with 2 windows. The front room has 3 balconies. It has a modern bathroom and kitchen. The apartment is reached by newly installed wooden staircase. No lift.

The area is steeped in Cantabrian history. Santander and Bilbao are accessed easily by bus or by car.

It is a 5 minute walk from the lovely 7 km sandy bay of Laredo it is a great beach for all water sports. 2 new surf schools opened last summer. The beach is very safe for all ages as it is in a large bay. The new Marina is now completed and is filling up with all types of boats. There is choice of two boats for trips around the bays and to Santona which is another seaside town also famous for its sea food and Saturday morning market.

“Stunning blend of old and new...”

Modern, roomy facilities and contemporary decor in a 16th century building on the edge of the old quarter in this lovely seaside town provided the perfect base for a relaxing holiday. The bathroom in particular is streets ahead of what you would normally expect in a holiday rental - could have spent hours in there! The property is the much-loved holiday home of the owners and local services are provided by family friends so the cleanliness and maintenance is 100% The sandy beach is a short 5 minutes away and the apartment comes equipped with beach mats, towels and even buckets and spades - if you feel so inclined.- but beds and umbrellas can also be hired cheaply on the beach itself. There's a market just round the corner with every sort of fish, meat and vegetable and there's a good supermarket a couple of streets away, or any number of well-stocked local shops almost on the doorstep. And the apartment is fully equipped for cooking at home, but as it's also surrounded by excellent, reasonably priced bars and restaurants, it's just as cheap to eat out. The tapas at the nearby Bar el Curro were the best I've ever seen or tasted, but you really will be spoilt for choice. We were there for the Battle of the Flowers fiesta which was spectacular. You can't actually see the parade from the apartment but you will be entertained by the local bands congregating in the square below, and the Juliette balconies are ideal for watching local party life in the square below until the early hours. All in all, a great find in a lovely, lovely part of Spain, well away from the main tourist drag.

How do damage deposits work?
