Description

The house:

The house has been recently renovated and retains its original character. It is in the middle of Leucate village near to the church in a quiet but lively street, close to boulangeries, cafés, restaurants and small shops.

The house is spacious and well kept, On the ground floor is a sitting/dining room, the kitchen, a store room and another store room for keeping bikes.

On the first floor are two double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower and WC.

On the second floor is another large room with sofas, armchairs, television and two single beds. There are sliding glass doors opening onto a Mediterranean terrace, perfect for relaxing.

The surroundings:

Leucate village is a traditonal French village with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. It is 2km from the sea and it's long sandy beaches.

Leucate is in the region of Languedoc-Rousillon in the department of Aude. It borders on the Pyrenees-Orientales region. The area is well known for its wine and there are many vineyards and « caves » for wine tasting. The Aude region has much history to explore including the mountain-top Cathar castles and the mediaeval walled city of Carcassonne. It takes about 40 minutes to drive into Spain and approximately 2 hours to Barcelona. The Pyrenees mountains can be reached by car in less than an hour's drive.

The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking or cycling. There are cliffs and inlets, and a very long sandy beach, part of which has great beach bars and restaurants, and other parts that are quiet and uncrowded, even in the high season.

The area is well-known for its windsurfing and kite-surfing.

During the high season,there is a free bus service and cycle track between the village and the sea.

Bike hire is possible ( approximately 8€/day or 30€ a week.)

Two minutes' walk away is beautiful Mediterranean countryside, ideal for walking cycling, bird watching.

Free nearby parking is available.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Jane (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
