This luxurious two storey cottage (approx 85 sq m / 915 sq ft) is located within a 5 minute walk of the bars and restaurants in the Bairro Alto and less than a 10 minute walk to the shops, cafés and Metro station in Chiado.

It's an ideal base for exploring the city with a stop for Lisbon's historic trams close by and, if you want to go to the beach, Cais do Sodré railway station is 15 minutes walk away including a ride down the famous 'Elevador da Bica'.

Despite the central location, the cottage is at the end of a terrace on a quiet street and backs on to the Geological Museum so you can enjoy the best of Lisbon but relax and sleep well when you want to.

Check-in is after 16.00h and check-out before 10.00h. However, we can be flexible about arrival / departure times if you contact us with your travel schedule well in advance.

A €100 breakage deposit must be paid in cash upon arrival and is refunded upon departure subject to inspection of the property.

We also have a travel cot and high chair (cost €35 per week).

Check-ins after 8pm will be charged 20€.

Further details indoors

From the entrance a few stairs lead up to the sitting and dining areas and a separate, new kitchen. Down a few stairs there are two bedrooms and bathroom. All rooms have heating and the living area has an air-conditioning unit which is powerful enough to cool the whole house.

You can connect your iPod or other MP3 player to the stereo system with the cable provided and there are DVDs and books for you to enjoy in the property. A wireless broadband internet connection is also available (please contact the owner for details).

We provide basic supplies of coffee and filters, tea, milk, sugar as well as olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. Toilet paper, clothes washing liquid and dishwasher powder are also provided.

You'll find our own guide to local restaurants, bars and shopping inside the property.

The house is cleaned before your arrival and then every 7 days. If you'd like further housekeeping, please contact the owner.

Further details outdoors

There is a local shop 30 metres from the door and in the same road you have the Geological Museum and a couple of small art galleries opposite the School of Dance.

If you'd like a drink nearby, Cinco Lounge, described by Time Out as Lisbon's first New York/London style cocktail bar, is 2 minutes away on foot.

Why can't I call Simon (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Simon (the owner) a message.

If Simon (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
