Description

Recently completed luxury renovation, comprising large lounge, roomy kitchen with dining area and three double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The bathrooms are equipped with step in showers. The house is situated in a quiet village five minutes by car from Lousa, in the heart of the Serra De Lousa mountain range.

The spacious living room is tastefully decorated featuring lacquered wooden ceiling beams and dressed pine flooring. A log burner in the corner will provide warmth to ensure comfort on chilly winter nights. Ceiling fans provide cooling during summer for the lounge and first bedroom.

The first double bedroom is situated off the lounge with an adjoining large en suite bathroom. A pine stairway leads down to the other bedrooms and from there to the garden and patio areas.

A fully equipped kitchen/dining room leads on to an elevated decking area, which facilitates outside dining and provides an area of relaxation to catch the afternoon and evening sun. From the deck there are truly stunning views across to the Serra De Coimbra mountain range to the west and Serra De Estrela range to the north. Sunsets viewed from here are magnificent.

The kitchen is very spacious and equipped with all modern conveniences and a dining table which seats eight people easily.

Downstairs, there are two more ensuite double bedrooms. These are comfortable and tastefully decorated. Both have double glass doors, allowing access to the large patio areas and garden.

The garden features a pergola with adjustable screens for garden dining if required. It also has a paved BBQ area. In the bottom corner of the garden there is a spa/hot tub, seating five persons, where one can relax with a cold drink and ease muscles tired from walking, biking or golfing, whilst taking advantage of the incredible views across the valley to the various mountains.

Many species of birds can be seen daily, including booted eagles, which often fly in close proximity to the house. At night one can hear and on occasion see, owls nearby in the trees. Deer and wild boar sometimes have an early morning graze in the fields below.

All rooms have doors or windows, which take advantage of the valley and mountain views and the fantastic sunsets, in this beautiful part of Portugal.

“If you go one place in Portugal it has to be here- Amazing !”

The location of this cottage in the mountains, just above Lousa, is truly spectacular. A short drive to restaurants/shops and supermarkets and yet in such beautiful surroundings. None of the photos do this place justice; we just couldn't believe how lovely it was when we arrived. The cottage is immaculate and very well laid out, open plan with a log burner for chilly evenings. It had everything you could ask for including amazingly comfortable big beds. We spent each evening in the hot tub overlooking the goats and mountain view with a glass of wine; fantastic after a day walking in the breathtaking Schiste villages nearby. The owners of the cottage Liz and Bob couldn't have done more to make our stay so special. They provided homemade cakes and preserves and a variety of supplies on our arrival so we didn't even need to shop until the next day. On a wet day Liz arranged for a masseuse to come in and give my husband and I treatments in front of the log fire.Lovely. Liz also took us on some fantastic walks and was on hand whenever we needed advice on places to visit or eat. Liz and Bob were fantastic hosts and they turned a fantastic cottage into a spectacular visit. The area is so central to everything and I cannot praise this cottage enough or the hosts. Thank you Liz and Bob...we will definitely be back.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
